Hello I have been a long time viewer of Laser Pointer Forums, and I though it was probably time I joined. This is my first post obviously but I would like to thank all of you for the incredible information I have learned from this forum. :thanks: You guys have made me learn a lot more about lasers, and now I really want to build one.

Welcome to the forum! What kind you looking to build?

I really want to try and build something simple considering it would be my first laser. I want it to be about 5mw. I already have the components for a driver circuit, but I need a diode and housing, but I'm not quite sure where to get them because I don't really know what a reliable source is. The whole project will be encased inside of a radio shack hobby box with a momentary switch to turn the laser on and off.
