Hello, I'm the new one here ;)

I'm SQunX 23 i am in education as a carpenter
I'm from Germany.
(sorry if my grammar isn't correct)

I've stumbled a few times across this forum and decided to join.

I'm interested in lasers long ago but recently i have ordered 2 cheap 303 lasers from china (green and blue) and a LPC836 diode.

And I might have a few questions in the future.

And thats it for the moment.

You're Welcome man

The 303 are low power lasers! At the max will be 5mw!
LPC836 is a beautiful and powerful red laser diode!

Welcome to LPF!

What Jerry (lasersbee) said - they might be much more power. Eye protection is needed. For both and red diode - you might need more pairs of glasses for these wavelengths (still mostly both green and blue are covered by one filter, but I'm not aware of glasses covering all wavelengths including red). If in doubt do not hesitate to use search and/or ask helpful community here.

Stay safe and enjoy.

3D: Please be careful with these statements, might be harmful if someone will think they are eye safe.

The 303's are a great/fun laser, still can be dangous to the eyes though, yours or someone's else's (watch the reflections). But it's a great little unit, they generally come with cheap chargers, you might want to upgrade to a safer one.

Welcome and be safe. :)

Wrong. They're advertised as 5mW but any I've come across do more than that. I've seen the 532s do up to 90mW, the one I have just now does 50mW.

Be careful giving out bad advice.

Thank you guys for the friendly welcoming :)

I haven't any eye protection yet besides sunglasses, but i will get it.
But which? I think there are many lookalikes and I'm not very experienced at the moment thanks for any help.

for exact I've ordered a blue 301 and a green 303 both from gearbest, I bought them because they are cheap. (6.02€ for one)

@BobMc: I have already a pretty good single cell charger for my e-cigs, but thanks for the advice.
And the laser from my order didnt have chargers or batterys included.

@Vetttech: I am more from the south i came from Bavaria (Allgäu) but at the moment I live in Baden Württemberg.
And we have very good beer here :D

Sunglasses are no protection against lasers. Search for Eagle Pair for example. Cheap and are considered as reliable here. Do not buy cheap crap named like T-Rex and so on, they are just useless colored plastic. Use google search field at the bottom of the forum page and there will be many threads about glasses. ;)

You got me. Still not good to joke about safety in welcome thread. ;)

Edit: I have Univet goggles. Expensive, but very good. Covering all my collection with more than needed safety except yellow and red. Also work for IR (I considered it earlier).

WELCOME
And thanks for the intro thread---so many come here and just want answers-- no intro...IMHO a intro should be required.
here is a rep bump to help you get started-- have you made the LaserFreeks meet in Germany?? I here its super... but to outdo SELEM would be impressive (SELEM (in AUG @ North Carolina)is now enlarged to almost five full days--biggest and best meet in USA)--I made 5 in a row--hope to make it this year...

>>>> HERE--Protects all visible wavelengths BUT SPENDY

100-20-260 laser safety glasses for use with multiple wavelengths: nitrogen laser, 337.1 nm, eximer laser, 193 nm, 248 nm, 308 nm, 353 nm, helium silver laser, 224.3 nm, neon copper laser, 248.6 nm, krypton laser, 416 nm, Dye laser, 390-435 nm

THESE..
Laser Safety Filter 260

OD Specifications:
OD 7+ @ 190-540 nm
OD 2+ @ 630-650 nm
OD 3+ @ 650-690 nm
OD 6+ @ 690-1330 nm
OD 8+ @ 1064 nm

--to save some $$ (but less OD protection)
you could get two sets cheaper that will cover all 'colors' ..

just be aware of side hits-- a beam could go over one's shoulder and reflect into your eyes from the inside of the lens--it almost the same as a mirror=---when you think about it. so side shields are important.. welcome
