532nm 5mw 16340 Laser Pointer Pack-112.06 Online Shopping| GearBest.com

Just wondering if anyone had experience with this one from gearbest. I mean most aren't sold for $100+ unless they are of decent power. I was hoping for 500mW+ maybe out of it but I'm not gonna take a chance without some solid proof. Thoughts?
Well, the 5mw rating is most definitely bogus. Actual output power is probably somewhere between 200-400mw. Impossible to know for sure without more info.

That one is a generic Thor host; I've never seen a 532 in one of those, so we don't really know what it will be like.
Typically the 500mW+ chinese 532s are in bulkier hosts (that are of similar design to the Thor host.)

Yeah thats what I was thinking as well. Maybe I can get a straight answer if I email them?

Yeah that's why I was wondering if it was anything special. I think I'll take a shot at emailing them an see what I find.

Sooooo I emailed them asking if the laser was between 500mw and 1000mw. They said

"yes it is"

Short but sweet I guess. Not sure if I trust it but maybe it is worth a shot?

At that price if it ends up even being 300+mw it's still a decent deal.

Yeah I might be giving it a shot sometime here soon. Maybe next week and then I'll report back on the power level.

Ask them if they have a power meter reading. Might give you some useful information.

Soooo I asked about a power meter reading and got this: "Hello Zach,
Please note the beam distance is Beam Distance (m): 5000 - 100000m which for the exact distance whihc may influenced by weather mist and other factors."

???:confused::crackup:

I'm gonna take a risk and purchase it in a few days. I'll report my findings to you guys.

Yeah, I've asked aliexpress sellers about measuring power before and gotten answers about distance.

But good luck purchasing it, you are brave to do that. +rep. :)

For that price, given the higher quality appearing host, I really would be surprised if the output exceeded 100mw, but maybe prices are coming down for 532nm?

First post here (Or on any forum other than reddit). I bought the XPL-RG laser, and like the post here said, it is pretty bad quality (made the order before XPL's mention was edited). What are the chances I'll be able to get a replacement, or at least a partial refund?

I can't say for 100% sure but I'm pretty sure that XPL customer service is just plain poor. I tried to contact them about a pen I got that said "burning" and I received a rely on improper English script. I'd say you couldn't add enough zeros to this chance of a refund.

I have some influence with Peng; I can probably get you a refund. Can you PM me the name you used when you purchased the item?
