I took the time to make a proper beamshot of my laser, I'm curious who be the closest in guessing it's wavelength and power. I haven't added any smoke or anything to visualize the beam more than just plain air (no vacuum).

543.2nm GreeNe, 2-5mW?

Edit: Oh the picture gets bigger, didn't even notice that

That Green LED display in the background looks brighter than
that Laser...
So what's the purpose of this Thread....

Guessing power is impossible without knowing exposure time and aperture, as well as atmospheric conditions... but i have to agree that it looks like a green HeNe.

Given the typical output power of such lasers and the blooming of the led display, it can't be more than a few mW.

What gave it away it's a HeNe? I guess me asking the wavelength :)
But it's only 2mW, I doubt if there are any green HeNe's above 2mW. But I took this foto with a very long exposure. The beam is visible at night, but on this photo it looks far better than in reality.

What gave it away was the plasma emission light from the HeNe tube at the start of the beam :P

How much can a little HeNe tube give ? 2 - 5 maybe 10 mW ? and the beam is s visible at night ??? ehmm i don't think so ...

so i guess 5 mW max

5mW max for a good one, definitely not a green HeNe though.

For small tubes, 0.1 to 3mW is more accurate.
