Green + Violet?

I've tried this with my 132mW blu-ray and it slightly looks like cyan, but the only green I have is 98mW so there too much green.

However when I combine blu-ray with the DX200 red it became magenta.

It really depends on the surface you are shining it on to.

Blu-ray looks violet on some surfaces, and blue on other surfaces. You've got that on white paper, where blu-ray is blue. So the end result looks blue. But if you tried it on another surface it would look more green and cyan coloured.

I drew you a nice graph on a CIE color gamut i found on wikipedia. all points on the line are mixable. Note that the violetness of 405nm is underestimated by this graph.

^That means I can combine a single-line argon with a direct injection red to yield white, right?

Your white looks purple to me  >:(  :P

oh baby! gooey please tell me you use a dichro t combine the 532 and 405

zom b can you post the unedited version of that graph?

As computer monitors can't display all chromatic colors, the gamut had to be converted to the three primary colors, which means there is inevitably loss of information. One of those things is the coordinate of white. Even changing the color temperature on your CRT monitor will move the white when looking at this same image. (note: not the 255/255/255 point moves, but the point that LOOKS white. Eg, when you double the red channel, the former white point looks red, but left of that is a point that looks white although less intense, you might call it gray). Evidence suggests that the "eye's" white lies higher than this image suggests, as your mix color looks purple.

To continue on the gamut subject, here's a render I made myself, with all 'true' colors (for a certain CRT computer monitor!) displayed inside the gray triangle, and all colors outside that are clipped, which I indicated by posterizing the colors (posterizing is the process of lowering the number of gradients per primary, in this case 9)
I did with a cd holder once. ::) I looks a bit like argon, at least I think it does. I would post pic's but they might make your eyes bleed. :P

Just hurry up with the beam shots!
I can't light incense in my house because my mom will get sick. :P I also suck at taking pictures.
