A primary CR123A has around 1500 mAh @ 3.0V. Even assuming you can get out only ~1/3 of the total capacity at drain currents approaching 1A, that should translate to roughly one hour runtime for a 200mW laser (similar to a LED light at 200 lm). I personally am thinking in the direction of getting some CR123A-based lasers as well; I'd prefer the smaller size over longer runtimes (how long does it take to accumulate 1 hr laser time?), but I'll be doing some more reading around first...
