Green Laser noob :)

hmm you if you want reliable operation without harming the diode really you should just buy the 120mW o-like module:)

Explain please.

So All I do is buy the module..Hook it up to the driver circuit and ill have 120mW?

I thought there was a way to increase the output power?

And then you could enhance the heat sinks to deal with the extra load? Theres no way to do it? Theres a reason I spent 25$ on this laser and not 100+ on a laser.

You need a good heatsink too :/ and the right batteries. Please don't double post. The members here will get to you as soon as they see your reply.

I apologize. I have bad forum habits.

Ill spend some time searching around the board for info.

The o-like module already has a driver. All you need is a host, a battery and a module and you are ready to go! You could get one of Mohrenberg's very nice custom hosts for incredibly little money right now: http://laserpointerforums.com/laser_pointer_forums_3/forum/showthread.php?t=40777
If you want a ~150mW greenie this is probably the very best and cheapest option you have right now.. buy the http://www.o-like.com/b2b_cpinfo.asp?id=886 for $109 shipped, then buy Mohrenberg's custom machined host and 2 batteries extra (so you have a spare) for $28 shipped to the US and $38 shipped internationally.
That is $137 for a very powerful and reliable greenie in a beautiful, extremely heatsinking custom host with batteries. You can't beat that.

Well I was planning on just getting the Blue Ray laser diode for 49$

The blue ray driver circuit for 8 $ from O-like, and whatever module off E-bay that will fit the Blue Ray diode for 5 $

Then put it together my self.

I want to put it in a star-trek phaser and pop balloons with it :) Thatll be the shit.

Strategically setup black balloons. Be like Look dude, I made a real phaser. And they be like BS dude STFU.

Then I just go bam bam bam and you hear pop pop pop and they are like wtf?! lol

Could you make up your mind before you ask questions? -.- I don't like wasting time answering stuff you could have read in an FAQ just to be super nice and then finding out you don't even care any more because you now want a BR.

You shouldn't buy the diode from there, it's much cheaper here:

Or already installed: http://hightechdealz.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=4

look if he is planning about blue ray then why post here in the green laser?? ahm wrong place??/

read the faq's in my signature!!!! and your 50mw should be able to atleast pop dark balloons right now.
