i have $100 and i want to get another laser. preferably a green laser. does anyone have any suggestions? thanks.

thats what i was thinking of getting! i like its looks and the fact that its focusable. but does the focusing feature really matter?

If you want to burn stuff -- absolutely. Also doesn't hurt to be able to keep focusing under your control versus fixed focus for beam divergence. Sometimes they don't do the best job at the factory; with a focusable laser you can always correct that yourself on the fly.

With that I'd probably shift my recommend to what Grix did but, definitely stay with o-Like for that pricerange.

O-Like is pretty good anyways. You should look at some of their lasers.

But if prefer not to... DIY. Its more fun doing it yourself and having the feel of satisfaction.

Well, I'm not sure if I'd recommend DIY with 532 as a first build. He'd have to get a DPSS module from o-Like anyways. For a first DIY I'd probably say go 660nm LOC or 405nm PHR.

Other folks opinion may vary...

445nm would be a good idea if you want to DIY - but only if you have a bit of experience with cheaper and safer lasers, and have goggles.

We're getting really spoiled (and i think safety 'numb') with the advent of these 445s. A ~120mW PHR will still blind you. For a first DIY though, if you blow the diode its only $8 vs $50 for a 445.

But just felt I had to remark - you can screw up your eyes permanently with a 30mW...

My first build was the dead 650nm on my sig.
It died after lots of hours...

I mean, if you are careful, things should not get f*ed up.

I just spend $99 on eazzydeal on 3 lasers (two green and a blue/violet), and some flashlights.

They are probably not the best quality, and I am not sure how Danish customs will react?

The plus side is that I can afford to break one open to get a better idea of how they are made. :)
