It seems to me unless he actually sent the supplier money, it would still be in a holding account, fully liquid. Otherwise we would be waiting on the suppler, not AMK, to dole out refunds. See my point?
Yes I do.
However, you either may have not been following the thread completely or did not completely understand what was happening. All of those "samples" he was getting while trying to see if the 12X was actually available and/or whether these were really 6X's, were not free. The shipping of them to IgorT for testing was not free. Those purchases and actions were taken for the benefit of the GB participants. The money for them came out of the GB account. If they had proven real the cost of them would have been shared by all (and, knowing AMK, probably still come out of AMK's small share). However, they were not 12X's. AMK would be perfectly justified in taking the cost of those things out of everyone's refund (as well as any remaining charges left levied by GCO). He has decided to bear the entire cost of both the samples and the left over fees. Unfortunately, that means that some have to wait for him to get paid to receive their refund. AMK refunded money until the money in the GB account was exhausted. Now he has to wait until he gets paid to finish the refunds. I'm sorry you are one of the ones on the "other side" of the payment line, but as I said, getting angry and/or demanding will not change the money situation.
You are still thinking like a customer buying from a retail outlet. The GB process has gotten distorted recently with the flourishing of small retail businesses calling what they do "Group Buys." Jake, blu-ray, Kenom, etc. do not run group buys. They have small retail businesses. You loan them the money to buy stock for their business and get paid back with stock. They have "left overs" and can offer "discounts" to large buyers, because they are turning a profit. You can make demands out of that profit. A group buy is done as a service to the community. The person running it usually only gets one of the items for themselves for their effort or they simply pay the same as everyone else does. I am NOT saying that what Jake, blu-ray, Kenom, etc. do is bad. I buy from them as well. I am saying that they act and can be treated differently than someone running a true group buy. Someone running a group buy as a service to the community has no "profit" upon which you can make demands.

Id call this a GB if the G stood for guess.. I paid back in Oct. for 6x sleds, and like everyone else, got 4x sleds. Yet the title remained as 6x. Myself and other members noticed that the sled looked similar, but not the same to the true LG 6x sled. Everyone was assured they were in fact 6x, 250mW, "a close aquaintence", 'firmware deficient / same diode', etc. I recieved only a few of the "6x's", blowing the first at 170ma, and then the fiasco that brought us to the "OMFG 12x" crap. I pulled out batch 3 the second I saw the title of the thread change, for the very reason why people are getting fed up now.
When people put their hard earned cash down in a GB, they should get what they pay for, especially after all of the 6x assurance. This doesnt include guessing. I did not want a fictisious 8x, 12x or anything else. A minor slip in detail is one thing, but its now into many.
I dont think that anyones money should pay for samples, they paid for 6x, and it is up to the host of this 'guessbuy' to deliver, not gripe about personal costs, or for others to do the gripping for him. Testing the samples before even posting the thread may have been a good idea as well.
If AMK wanted to host a GB for 8x or 12x, then do the feeler and get people to pitch in for the sample costs. Take seperate orders on another thread, rather than hold on to peoples cash for a couple of months, keep guessing and rework the payment info page.
I understand that GB's take time and effort, but changing the title of the thread 5 times and not delivering the goods is not a GB in my books, just an inconvinience.
Calling Jake21's operation anything short of a GB, I would not agree, its a group of people buying at near cost, not retail. I ordered 150 803t sleds through him, as quantity sweetens the price, and he makes next to nothing for his trouble. That to me is a GB. Not to mention I will see my sleds before the new year, and after paying in Dec.
Jake has been honest when I asked what he pays for the sleds, and considering the free harvesting for n00bs he offers, is doing more for 'the community' as a GB host.
Why exactly are people waiting for refunds?, and how many out of the 30 sleds 'paid' on page one have backed out? I dont think the samples cost 1800. so obviously his 'profit' has been spent, and is now trying to recover the money to provide refunds.
Then again I could be completely wrong... and maybe theres more to the story than being let on.
