These are indeed 50 lines/mm. No pictures though since it's hard to take a picture of 1500nm

What are you guys using to "hold" the grating when your using it?

Starlight: I have a tripod with clamp I use sometimes. If the clamp is holding a laser, I prop it up.

ok thanks. I was thinking of ways to hold it without harming the surface of either side of the grating. for now a sunglasses style microfiber cloth and a plastic clamp

It's just a multi line argon. Beautiful effect though

That is a multi line Argon laser. They have 8 different wavelengths that are dispersed when passed through a medium such as diffraction grating.

I have a PanaVise® that has plastick jaws. Clamp it at the edge and shoot through the middle.
