BTW, does those blue things that resemble blue leds on the top have some utility, or are there just for the appearance ?

I have a better picture but it "instantly" gives away it's use. Not a coffee machine, but that "yellow" in the middle is being heated. And it only appears yellow in the photo. And the LED's are decorative.

The review said that this product introduced in 2006, produced eggs that taste like rubber. :/
