GagLaser?

You can use a variable editor to change the prices of things in a shopping cart. Same sort of cheat program where you hunt down variables in a game such as health, money etc then freeze or increase them. Doesn't matter much though because the seller definitely notices that you paid $1 for a 10m- I mean 400mW laser.

Lovely. Theft is theft, regardless of the method used to do it. THAT means that if that method was used to edit the cart - then that person is a thief - period. Pretty sad, now that the "truth" about theft, and certain individuals has come to light. It's really a shame that common thieves cannot be extradited to China for punishment ! THAT would cut down on the "cleverness" of the thieves, I am certain.

Variable Editor?

Well, whoever knows how Wes changed the values or anything, could you please PM me with how to do it?

I work as an administrator on an online text based MMORPG doing debugging, and I'd be interested to see what these kinds of 'variable editing' methods may do.

Javascript injection can change form values quite easily.

A rule in web design security: Never trust any data that is entered by the user, or is sent by the user.

Simple example of javascript injection on LPF:

Code:
javascript:void(document.forms[0].elements[2].value='Injection.');

Copy and paste that into your browser, hit enter, and watch the search text box at the top of the page. Tested on firefox.

Okay Wes, stop right there.

All the other stuff you talk about lately is immature and what not, but it's alright :) There is nothing wrong with that. Boys will be boys.

But what you are just talking about is very illegal.

The internet isn't a game. You can't just do what you want and walk away with no consequences. You are scamming those companies, and I can tell you now that Adobe is no pushover. They are a big company, and if they catch you you're in trouble. If anyone catches you, you're in trouble. You are effectively stealing.

Adobe CS3 is worth over a thousand I'm fairly sure. And you just stole it from right under their noses.

Quit while you're 'ahead' and hope you don't get caught.

Shit. He found out i only paid 1$. well i know this works on sites that sell software,and the computer sends the software once it receives "A payment"
The program i use is called "Tamper Data" it is a FF plug in. all do is click tamper data,then you hit the paypal add to cart,and it will pop and you change the amount to w/e you like.i got software for $0.01 like adobe CS3 and big software. the lowest you can do is 0.01. you can also might get products in the mail,if the seller thinks its a glitch and sends it to you. dont try with dx,as i already tried and it dont work.

You make me sick. If you ever tried that shit with me, you'd be up on larceny charges sure as shit.

dudes,if its illegal,then why the hell does firefox have the plugin for ???
i did not scam adobe, i use torrents for that reason. and i only did this once and it was for some karaoke software.  Im not stupid to give them my address or anything like that. if i was a scammer i would of done this lots of times and got caught already. but i only did this 1 time
You still did it... ::)

That plug in has a lot of legitimate uses. Used for web development and testing, like I'm about to use it for.

When I just went to download it, it had an agreement that it will be used for legitimate purposes. You voided that agreement...

I don't think GagLaser (or any laser company) is dumb enough to fall for that trick.

That's why it is important for the server to validate queries before they are passed to the database. For example, when I was in high school, I discovered several vulnerabilities in my school's "digital locker" system, one of which allowed users to hijack others' accounts. I found out that it was possible to use JavaScript injection to manipulate queries that were sent to the database. Since the server did not validate these queries, I was able to trick the server into thinking that I was another user.

Also, if you knew, you can get the trial free then download the keygen and make it legit for CS3 all for free.

Course, I wasn't endorsing that sort of thing, and I was rather vague about it, I wasn't like 'omg use this thing www.roflcoptercheatingprogram.org'

I completely understand that. I also know that I obviously come from a totally different culture than people like Wes that think it's okay to steal, "Because I want it".

"I dont scam adobe, I use torrents for that" lmao!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

The funny part is I really dont think he realizes that either way he is scamming adobe...
