I don't know about all that. Here's the link I used, straight from tocket himself:

http://tocket.mine.nu/Chroma/distrib/

Download the bigger exe (cChroma_pkg.exe) which includes MCR install, and run the executable, and that was it. When it was done installing everything, I had a "chroma.exe" file and the required "ciexyzbg.mat" file right next to it. I ran Chroma.exe, and it worked.

Alright I finally got it working. I was just wondering for sh!ts and giggles what power levels would be needed to make white with .5W of 638nm. I got 375mW of 532nm and 320mW of 445nm. The green needs way too much current, puts out way too much heat and is too big for this kit. I can't wait till advancements in green and red lasers match those that just occurred with blue. 1W reds, greens and blue in 5.6mm packages would be awesome. But current and heat would still be a huge problem for handheld projectors.

Edit: I just tried .5W of 638nm with a blu ray instead of the 445nm. I got:

.5W 638nm
.375W 532nm
1.75W 405nm

Both of these (though impossible in a WF) setups would produce around 300 lumens!

Has it ever occurred to any of you that ~300mW of 660nm + X mw in 445nm and 532nm is good enough?

445nm: .080W
532nm: .100W
658nm: .350W
79.2 lumens, .530W

445nm: .120W
532nm: .150W
638nm: .220W
122.9 lumens, .490W

Going to 638nm from 660nm lowers the total output power while increasing luminous flux by 50% and increasing chromaticity by a large amount as well. I suppose "good enough" is all relative, but those are all good things for not a whole lot more investment. Especially once you consider the 445nm blue has now replaced the more expensive violet diode, you can splurge a bit on the red diode instead and improve performance by quite a bit. The most expensive diode just goes from being the violet one before to being the red one now, at about the same amount of cost. I believe I'm going to get the red diode and leave my current green for the moment, and see how it does.

Personally, I don't fully trust chroma, and if anything, 638nm will be a downgrade from 660nm. It will make a less vibrant magenta. Also one thing to take into account is the loss of the optics. The stock turning mirror/dichro isn't that efficient for green unfortunately.

But I hope you're right about more lumens per watt in the end.

I just noticed the x and y characteristic on the Chroma. Do you want a .3 for both characteristics (to be perfectly white) or is that just a coincidence?

And it wouldn't really use the full potential of the 445nm diode, less than 10%. Bump on my original question by the way:

Does anybody still sell this kit, or even better, the already built laser? I would be interested. Thanks.

I've got large quantities of cash in easy-to-carry bags waiting here if anyone can sell me one of these kits. Get in before I drown in my own drool, though.

Cheers!

Sightfx "handed over the WhiteFusion franchise" to FlaminPyro. At the moment, FP is busy with other projects but he might be able to start making this kit soon.

Oh yeah FlaminPyro is totally swamped at the moment with back orders.

I'd give it a month or so.
