So, it's ridiculous that I am actually saying this. However, after an hour and a half of searching all over the web, I don't understand how to hook up to a test load... a simple picture would be so much help. :D

Okay, that's kind what I was thinking... connect the driver to the + - on the left side, connect the... meo3ure here? Multimeter? Then, what is the jumper? Is that for the diode?
 
Sorry the S looks like 3. Hard to write with on that phone. Measure the voltage drop across the resistor using multimeter. The voltage drop in mV will be equal to the current that the driver is pushing through the circuit.

The jumpers are there to set and simulate the forward voltage drop that happens across the laser diode. You want to make it as close to the actual Diode voltage drop as possible. Look in my signature, there is a link to my recent 405nm build. I have explained in that thread how to calculate a Vf for 405nm diode and set it with the jumper on the load. Depending on what diode you use and what current you are pushing through it Vf will be different. Search the forum for diode specs.
