Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

Also I always clean my lens with the RED First Contact Polymer from Photonic Cleaning Technology. I have the 200$ deluxe kit with a lot of spare bottle and thinner fluid:) It's the only one cleaning technique I found for easy cleaning / perfectly lens AND laser diode window, like new !

But for the perfect result I need (a toothpick for LD window, pliers and adhesive for lens) to remove the lens from assembly -> Sanwu barrels are easy to disassemble ?

Red is great, you have the best cleaner. :gj:

Are Sanwu barrels easy to come apart....NO! They are formed or something, they don't come apart, not the G2 or G7, the 3E will as usual.

Sanwu fail for this:D my mod is the only G7 assembly for pedantic laser mania (zero splash around dot and good power) ?

Easier to clean than a 3E, screw is on the right side / LD side / where a slight reduction in diameter have no impact on beam diameter, and the usable lens area is "near 100%", the diameter of the lens is almost identical to that of the hole!

What is your print ( as seen through attenuation laser safety glasses ) at 15 feet focused to a bar/line of course, this is most important to me...well within reason, but what length is your spot/bar at 15 feet ?

I know G7 is just slightly more than 3 element

3 element ( NO BEAM EXPANDER ) at 15 feet with the following diode the spot/print/bar/line is

ndb7875 = 5/16

ndb7a75 = 5/8

nubm44 - 15/16

That was a bit confusing as line width in lasers pertains to the bandwidth of a specific laser. For instance, the linewidth of a ruby laser at 300K is 5.3 Angstroms, or .53nm. In reading further I see you have used it to describe the far field beam profile focused at distance. Just thought you ought to know in case it confuses people other than myself.

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

Ah yes, I have heard the terminology line width before, I should clarify.

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

I have many diode (basically all DTR variety single and multimode) and all equipped with "my" G7 lens.

I can measure the fast and slow axis-after lens divergence, but in my apartment I have only few meters space to do measurements...

NDB7875 is a good multimode reference...
you say ndb7875 = 5/16 : it's 5mm think and 16mm length?
I do the measurements with safety goggle tomorrow. But at shorter range...
Or better I can do picture of same diode with my G7 vs. 3E standard lens on same picture.

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

At 15 feet I get a bar that's 1.5mm tall and 8 mm wide with a G7 on a NDB7875 at 2.4a and I go by the burned in line on wood, I don't try to measure any splash or aberration, just the glowing orange hot burning bar.

Yes a side by side with a 3 element would be great, the longer your distance the better but work with what you have.

For instance here is a NUBM44 through a DTR G2 at 15 feet.

Here is an old video, the 07 is running with the GBall removed and has divergence much like the ndb7a75, m-140 is basically the same divergence as the ndb7875

This is easy : my G7 do exactly the same divergence / same focal length as the 3 elements, you can't see the lenght difference with focused line.
BUT, the 3 elements have a way lower aperture/pass-diameter. My G7 barrel pass more light and less reflection or aberration. This is the perfect lens I use for all:)

I make picture : out of focus projection but with exactly the same condition to compare the aspect ratio (G2 vs my G7 vs 3E) with a 7875 diode.

An easy way to compare lens, same 7875 diode. Must be out of focus all in the same condition.
(focus dot at 1 meters for each)

The only thing that brings on his photos is the aspect ratio. It give you the amount of light not blocked by the barrel !

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

Another issue is the high divergence of the diodes raw output, with the NUBM44 it's really bad, the light can't even get out of the diode without clipping on the 12mm copper module threads for the M9 x 0.5 lens barrel, so an 8mm FL lens will not get to use all the light unless we go with a wider module and lens.

Here's a NUBM06 with the GBall can removed, it's natural divergence from the P/N junction is much like the NDB7A75, here you can see it clips on the aggressive axis before it can get far at all, it's hitting the table 2 inches below at about an inch forward, so it diverges 2mm down for each mm forward, so by 8mm it would be 16mm low. Correction, for the part that counts more like 1 for 1, a 45 degree angle of projection, so roughly a 7mm in the open lens at 7mm distance should catch most the light, a wider module and wider lenses would be nice but weigh out the cost vs. the benefit, it's better to use a short FL G2 and then C lens pair to rein in the aggressive axis, then a beam expander. If the goal was a mock Gaussian beam then possibly a telescopic reduction following correction or leave it corrected, a wider module will mean a wider lens otherwise.

Here's the result, half of them is at good range(488~489nm) with one exception being as 486nm.

We will send out lasers within 488~489nm range for orders received in these four days(only one day left) so grab one right now! :eg:

Yes I know, this is the fundamental problem with M9 0.5 module. But I found the G7 with my barrel a good compromise even for NUBM44 or N465 4W diode.
The worst is the RED 700mW OCLARO and my English which limits me in what I wish to express lol

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

I think Sanwu already pushed the G7 to the limit, and there is still some clipping with NUBM44, I don't know how much if any you could improve within the 12mm copper module unless the lens was at the rear like the Sanwu G2.

Sanwu G2 on the right.

The sanwu G7 catches a lot of the light for a long FL lens, likely around 7mm est. at 8mm I think you will be clipping some with the 05, 06, 07, 7a75 the m-140 and 7875 you could help, the nubm44 is just too divergent for an 8mm FL lens in the 12mm module, you will not get all the light in, maybe 70%....maybe.

I applaud your efforts and I also want to get a better energy concentration at distance, but I find using a short FL G2 followed by cylindrical correction of the aggressive axis works the best, then the beam expander, I can use all the light minus parasitic loss.

GRRRRR....WOW, I would get the pocket but I already bought a module/diode/driver/lens, just waiting for it to arrive so I can put in a host I already have waiting.

WOW, Only 90 dollars for a cherry picked super slim 488nm, was a 1000.00 diode a week ago.

I just ordered a cyan from you :)
By the way I got the 505nm pocket 2 days ago and I love it I’ll be making a review soon.

Re: FS: Sanwu Laser store - R/G/B handhelds x3 BE & Stainless steel "The Spiker" rele

why on your spectrum you put the pure green to 532 and bluish to 520? 520 is the pure green and 532 the yellowish:)

Podo I want the pocket as host kit to make another collection of small lasers with spare parts!
