well all i need now is a host and i was wondering if u could maby give me an extra host that you have laying around for a good price

Cool. I am just getting into lasers and I want to build my own rather than purchase an expensive one. I do have basic soldering skills but im not experience with wiring anything. Do you think one of these hot kits would be a good first time build for a noob like me?

Yes, with a 'Hot' option kit, all you need besides your proper eye protection, is the diode installed into an AixiZ module, and a battery...

See this post for what is needed on your part with a 'Hot' option kit: (links to where to get the diodes are there too)

I have a hard time keeping stock of the hosts that I need for kit orders...

I may be able to help you if I have extra supply of a particular host. Send me a private message about this...

The hot kit comes with a driver right? So if thats preconfigured all i have to do is solder the wires to the battery or what? Or do I just take the diode installed into an aixiz module and the battery and stick them in? It would be really awesome if you could do a vid of you putting one of these together and post it. that way i could watch what your doing.

Do a YouTube search 'how to build a blu-ray laser' and I'm sure you will see plenty of videos...

It's one of those things that is really easy once you learn how...

Don't forget to read up on eye protection...

Riker, I sent your Pocket Mini 'Hot' option kit with copper heatsink, custom EzFocus adapter, and 405-G-1 glass lens today. (Monday)

Set at 500mA's per your request...

Hope you like it!

Thanks Jayrob i will most likely be purchasing one of your kits in the near future. i have an arctic on the way as my first laser. i knew possible problems existed and that a laser could be built cheaper however as it was my first laser I decided that it would be a good beginner especially with the training lense. After I have had that for a while I would like to copy a youtube vid and use one of your mini kits to make a 1w 445nm laser. then work my way up to larger more complicated builds.

Depends on what lens you choose...

But I would say to just max out a Micro Boost. Which will be around 1100mA's.

You need an 18650 host for that current...

I've got three different kits that use an 18650 battery, which is what I would recommend if you want high power...

(laser diode not included)

They are all good builds, it just depends on what 'tickles your fancy'...

Just a reminder to read up on proper eye protection in case you haven't already...

Of the three, the Stainless Steel 18650 kit is a little more tricky to assembly. Only because the heatsink and pill must be threaded into the head of the host without letting the wires get twisted. Which is easy if you know how to do it. There are assembly tips in my thread:

Of course there are options as well, so take a look at the kits, and send me a private message when your ready...

Here's the other two:
