Well... I don't know.

It's true thst this laser is on and off on O-like's web site, but I'm sure that knowing it's a hit will make them restock it in no time, so availability is no issue as far as I am concerned.

You'r saying that it's worth paying extra cash for expedited shipping and guarantied output. Maybe it is so, and maybe not.

My experience with O-like is that an order came in two weeks, regular shipping (5$).

I just have a bad feeling when I see that people are trying to make a profit out of our hobby.

Anyway, bhwollen, good luck with the sale and tell your dad not to be stressful with the money, at the most I can lend you some, lol. This is not a reason to sell a good laser.

I dont think you understand... Your paying for the convenience. Your paying a LITTLE extra for all of the convenience. bhwollen has already done the waiting, made for sure it is up to spec, over spec actually, and has made sure it's a good, quality, working laser.

That, is worth a few extra bucks. And if it isn't to you, then you don't need to inquire, or post in this for sale thread saying that it's not worth it.

Just to help nail home the point, I tried buying some cheap LiPo's somewhere in China to save a few bucks. The batteries were $40ish a piece, about half price for a similar battery here State side. After getting them 1 had a dead cell and the other was half recommended storage v. I could have sent it back to the tune of $45 (insured, cheapest) when If I had just spent that to begin with I could have called a company and had a replacement on it's way.
To pay more and know what your getting is worth it, and if there were no profit in any hobby, it wouldn't be a very lasting hobby.

Small premium for proved output, nicely overspec at that. Knowing that it is working as it should because it was tested. It's shipping from the USA on top of it.

The hell is wrong with you, Snoutke? A premium on this is way beyond understandable.

Then perhaps you should find some anti-capitalist country to move to. I have no problems with 'profiting off our hobby' I have bills to pay too you know, and I can guarantee you that both whichever chinese company makes these, as well as o-like, both profit off these lasers too. So if you don't like people profiting off this hobby.. then you'd best learn how to make semiconductors, smelt aluminium, etc, yourself.. because every component of every laser you own.. someone somewhere has profited by selling it.

Guys... don't gang up on the guy:tsk: I mean we are ALL entitled to OUR opinions, don't you :thinking:?

There is a fine line between reasonable profit and exploitation... Questioning prices however misguided or misinformed does serve a profit.

As for the reasoning... in an ideal scenario O-like deal is great. 400mW laser for $219 delivered in two weeks. Problem is most scenarios aren't anywhere near ideal.

I don't get how charging a few bucks extra just because the laser was originally fairly cheap could be considered a scam at all. Tell me the next place you can get 400mW of GREEN OUTPUT for $250 shipped, and know for a fact you'll get what your promiseD? YOU CAN'T

bh, If I had $250 you would have it and I would have this laser. Please don't sell it so I can save up and buy it haha
