I have a quick question before I pull the trigger on one of these. I just want to make sure that the micro boost drives from drlava will be able to power a PHR-803T BR diode off 2 AAA eneloops since the flex drives aren't available. I ask because if I did the calculations right 2x10440 will power a rkcstar and BR but you'll only have about a volt to maybe a volt and half of headroom on a fully charged set which won't give much run time.

The only reason i was lookin at this one in particular was because its CHEAP. I am on a very tight budget so this is $11 the others are $75 and $59. so thats why i havent jumped on the other ones already. (just to let you know i was planning on using a o-like module)

Something to consider...

The other kits provide good heatsinking to your module.

Also, they are very easy to assemble and disassemble. You will be able to swap out modules if ever needed in a matter of minutes!

Also, the choice of a primary or rechargeable battery for it's supply...

I understand that but i would rather get a pen style right now instead of paying $50-65 more just to get better heat sinking, choice of rechargeable batteries, and i could change the module if i wanted. But couldn't i also change the module in this pen host? Those are just my thoughts

Thanks,
Trever

Yes, if you can modify your module to fit...

The smaller the build, the more difficult the assembly.

There is no way that I can tell you that this will fit your green module because I don't know what size your module is. I can show you the measurements of the host (as shown in the first post), but green modules differ in overall length. And button position as well.

The larger hosts mentioned above have room for moving the module. They will fit any standard 12mm module with no modification to the module other than by-passing the switch...

Green modules will differ in measurements... It's not something that will be the exact same every time you buy them...

The diameter is the same, but the overall length, switch position, etc., can differ...

I emailed o-like (Susie) and she said all there green modules are the same length. But I do believe you. So what is your overall take on this,do you think its a good idea to do it or not.

You have to have the module in hand first...

Then take some measurements, compare them to my measurements shown in the first post, and decide if you could make it work.

If not, then you will use the module for something else other than a pen build...

Do you think i should go for it anyways?

As I mentioned before, I cannot tell you if it will work without the module in hand.

In a pen build, it's not just the overall length of the module. It's the position of the switch, etc...

Thats not a very good example you put up above, but the main question I was trying to ask is, for the most part will they fit or lets say only 1 in 10. Im not sure if that makes sence to you but ya.
