FS: Stainless Steel Green Kit! - Easy Assembly...

This Stainless Steel Green kit is available as a 'DIY Green Kit' without the battery or laser module... (links to the green modules are shown below)

It is a very easy assembly that can be done in less than 5 minutes...

The kit includes:
* Host
* Heatsink with set screw (you will need a 1.5mm Allen wrench for the module set screw)
* All extra flashlight parts

This host/kit, has a nice sized heatsink for good heatsinking to the module! Once you have this kit, it will last you a lifetime. VERY easy to swap out modules if ever needed or desired! :)

This host will also work for rhd's 'Mosquito Module'. Specify this when ordering. See below...

Will fit any standard 12mm green module...

All you will need is a module (very easy to solder a small wire to bypass the switch - see picture below), a battery, and a 1.5mm Allen wrench for the set screw.

* The Kit will be $59 dollars plus shipping
* Shipping - $6
* Please read my shipping policy here!

The tolerance for the heatsink length is very close for a green build in this host. Because the heatsink needs to be held tight into the host with the head screwed onto the barrel. And if it is a little too long, there will be a noticeable gap between the head and the barrel. (see pictures of assembly)

Once it is screwed into place, you can remove/charge the battery by unscrewing the tail cap. So there is not any chance of the heatsink/module coming out when changing/charging batteries...

The O-like green modules are here for the specs on them:
50mW: Green laser module 50mW For custom build or lab [OLGLM50] - $26.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products
100mW: 100mW industrial green laser module [OLGLM100] - $58.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products
150mW: Green laser module 150mW For custom build or lab [OLGLM150] - $96.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

Note: This host can also be used for a diode build. (red, blu-ray, 445)

It is the exact same host as my Stainless Steel 18650 kit shown here:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/fs-stainless-steel-18650-kit-polished-perfect-445-a-52159.html

Except with a green build, you will be using a CR123 (or RCR123) with the positive end of the battery towards the tail switch. (case positive)

This is a great 'Kit' for a DIY green build... You can use these pictures and first post, as a tutorial for the build... :)

Note: If you have a 4 pin style switch, it is easy to by-pass by connecting two of the points along either side. There are 4 solder points. Two at the the bottom (closest to the spring) And two at the top of the switch. (towards the aperture of the laser)

You can by-pass that style switch by soldering a small wire from one of the bottom points, to one of the top points. (easy to do)

If desired, you can easily make a sleeve for the battery (to make sure it cannot rattle) by cutting a sheet of plastic from a 2 liter soda bottle and rolling it up. Once you get the length needed, it will kind of 'self adjust' to fit inside the barrel...

This combination of a good size heatsink for your green module, and a very nice polished stainless steel host is a winner in my book...

Hope you like it! :)

Fitting for rhd's 'Mosquito Module'...

This host is a nice fit for rhd's Mosquito Module...

It means just customizing the heatsink to be bored larger at the back end. (for the driver to fit) The front of the heatsink will be fit for the AixiZ module, with a set screw.

With this particular kit, you will not be using the pill with a Mosquito module, so you need to order his module 'with spring'. (extra parts from the flashlight will be included)

My custom heatsink will be sized to be held in place when the head is screwed onto the barrel. You will just need to do some very easy adjusting of the module spring length. (or tail cap spring length as well)

With the Mosquito Module build, you will use 2 X RCR123 batteries instead of an 18650. Battery position - Case negative. (negative end of batteries towards tail switch)

* Stainless Steel Mosquito module kit (aluminum heatsink) - $59 (Mosquito module not included)

Is it ok to use a Li-Ion 3.6v battery in this? Or do I have to use a primary?

Lots of people use the Li-Ion battery. Especially if it's a 100mW module or higher power...

But that said, I always test power with a 3 volt battery first. Because once in a while you get a really efficient module that will give very good power even with a 3 volt battery.

And if that is the case, it will last longer with the 3 volt supply.

The cheap that come with these modules, don't seem to be the kind of quality that we are used to with FlexDrives. If they were, the module would get the same current with either battery. But they generally give more power with a Li-Ion...

Yes its real. :) The tolerance for the heatsink length is very close for a green build in this host. Because the heatsink needs to be held tight into the host with the head screwed onto the barrel.

Yes correct, it's best if I have the host when fitting the heatsink...

Has anyone purchased from o-like? There website seems kind of empty in some of the navigation panels.
