Heli's are awesome!

I make several different heatsinks, but all of the MXDL heatsinks are the same price. $23 plus shipping. Total - $26

Just specify which host, and which module you will be using. (AixiZ or Meredith)

Example: 4171/AixiZ

PayPal: jayrob@inreach.com

Crossfire, your 3405/AixiZ heatsink will be in today's mail. (Thrusday)

Hey jayrob, have you seen this host? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.18560

I think it's new, but it looks like it could be a 1 to 1 replacement for BOTH of the hosts you're making heatsinks for currently. Would make it quite easy for you really, if one host could use either batteries and you can jsut make one kind of heatsink. The torn-down photo shows that the last screw-on part will hold the heatsink the same way, and hopefully the body would screw apart in one more place like the other hosts as well. though you might want to check it out. Thanks.

Also, I'm pm-ing you my paypal address for the shipping of the test lasers, I had completely forgotten about it until now. Or maybe I can just use that towards a heatsink in the near future? Can't get one right now with the holidays looming, but after the holidays hopefully I can do some more. The shipping was $10 and change, but I don't remember the exact change, so $10 it is.

Cool! That light is amazingly versatile!

I'm sure it could be fit with a heatsink. Might even be enough room to make the heatsink flat at the front so that it is slightly recessed like the glass lens is.

Only thing is, the host is a bit pricey.

Another thing to try and find out, is the availability of the host. I have done a couple of different tutorials on side button hosts, only to find out that the hosts are kind of scarce and hard to find.

Anyway, I can PayPal you the $10 dollars right away. Or put it toward a heatsink, your choice! Just let me know...
Jay

P.S. Are you going to upload your readings to the power meter comparison spreadsheet?

If this is the right heatsink, for setting up the axis module loaded with an SLD1239JL-54 16x to handle more then 200 mAmps? If it is then can I buy one from you? I would just like the heatsink for it. Thanks

Yes! I make the heatsinks for a few different hosts though. Just let me know which host and module...

I want to post this picture from time to time, to remind everybody that there are now three different MXDL hosts, that I am making heatsinks for. Each build, has a different host, heatsink, battery supply, and driver.

Any heatsink can be fit for your choice of AixiZ, or Meredith.

1. 4171 - ($23 plus shipping) The MXDL that takes 2 X 3.6 volt rechargeable batteries for the high powered red diodes: (using a FlexDrive, with 3.0 volt batteries, this host is also great for a blu-ray build. As are the other hosts using the FlexDrive!)
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4171

2. 3405 - ($23 plus shipping) The MXDL that takes 3 X AAA size (3.6 volt 10440 batteries for the blu-ray build/DDL driver):
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3405

3. 5387 – ($25 plus shipping) The ‘side button’ MXDL that takes 3 X AAA size batteries:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5387
If DX is out of the 5387 host, use the 5095 host. It is the exact same for this build:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5095

The differences in these first two heatsinks, can barely be seen visually. But they are machined slightly differently for the fit into their respective MXDL hosts. Either style, can be fit for an AixiZ module, or a Meredith module.

In this picture, I have marked the heatsinks.

4171-A stands for 'DX SKU 4171 fit for AixiZ'.

3405-A stands for 'DX SKU 3405 fit for AixiZ'.

Note: Since we now have the FlexDrives, either host can be used for a Red, or a blu-ray build. So I will be marking the heatsinks with the DX SKU number of the host.

Just to let everybody know this. There would be no misunderstanding on your order, if you said 'I would like a 4171 - Meredith, and a 3405 - AixiZ'.

Here’s the new one:
(this one is $25 plus shipping)

Here's my tutorial on the build:
http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1217045236/0

I am going to keep posting this picture from time to time, so that new ones will understand...
Jay

P.S. Once again, besides the MXDL host & heatsink being different for these builds, the battery configuration will differ, depending on which driver you will be using...

For the module, I am using the axis laser module as for the host iam not using a host I am just using my laser from bare circuits.

I recommend the 4171/AixiZ heatsink. Because later, you can buy the host from DX for $12 bucks and build it into a handheld!

PM sent...
