Hey everyone. Time for me to sell a few things.

First up is my 520- Sold

Next up is my Uniphase Cyonics 2201D-40MLA Multiline argon (manufactured 1999). Does 5 lines on idle, and 6 on max. I estimate it to do about 50mW on max power, but I cannot confirm that (no LPM). I know it can do more than 6 lines, because I have seen a 7th before- when I first got it, I noticed a weak line showing near the dark blue end, I turned around for a brief second, and when I looked back it was gone. Haven't seen it since, so I am guessing that if you clean the optics you could get it to come in. The elusive 7th line! (insert spooky noises)

My asking price is $250 shipped to the U.S.

THANKS for looking!

Nice laser Crazy! Definitely a great addition to a laser hobbist :)

I would love to have 520, but the Aquarius has taken hold of me :(

The 520 is sold. Argon is still up for grabs!

The price on the ML Argon is very nice, considering that shipping is included. For those who don't know, shipping an Argon is not the cheapest thing to do. Good luck with the sale.

For my own curiosity, and perhaps so I could clear up any confusion/questions on that AR. Could you take a picture of the current spectrum it's producing? Doesn't have to be recent. No need to fire it up just for you to take a picture :p

Hmmmm I think I have an old pic somewhere. The lines it's producing is in my sig

EDIT: attached pic, this ones from a while ago. The mysterious 7th line I mentioned came in between the top 2 in the pic.

Well, if you're curious, I can tell you what it was.

Where in that gap was it? Around halfway, or close to the 476? There are two lines in that gap that lase at equal brightness/gain.

it was like half way between 476 and 457, IIRC

That would make it the 465.8nm line

Bingo^

I wouldn't recommend cleaning these optics unless you are really good at aligning these things.

The internals of these include a brewster window followed by the external mirrors. This whole assembly is covered with some sort of protection that varies by manufacturer. Usually something to cover the optics to prevent dust corruption, as well as a desiccant to prevent moisture damage.

So unless you want to fiddle with that, then try realigning for ALL 7 LINES, do not worry about it and enjoy the laser for what it is :) It's not like in one alignment, 0 lines, and the next, 7. You get them one or two at a time, very difficult to get all of them at once.

However, there is a chance that on either side "under the hood" you will find a couple nuts. Perhaps without opening it, hard to tell from the pic. Either way, these are your X and Y mirror mount adjusters. You could perhaps align it more to get more power.

Though either way, a healthy 6 line for that price, I don't know who would complain....

I'll stop thread jacking now, that's probably more info than any potential buyer cared to know.

Crazy and I had the same units, IIRC there weren't any nuts on them so realignment would be a big pain

Re: FS: Multiline Argon and 100mW+520nm!

Just an FYI for those interested, the JDSU 2201 and 2214 series argons are internal mirror tubes, they have no brewster windows and no optics you can clean (well, not without ripping the tube open anyway)

This is good in most cases, means you can't get dust on them accidentally from a loose cover or whatever.
