FS: EzFocus Adapters! Focusing Adapter For Kryton's and Others!

:thanks:

Igor, I am shipping your Kryton EzFocus adapter today with your 405-G-1 glass lens mod...

Please post back here with your comments on the EzFocus Adapter! :)
Jay

It is essential with a 405-G-1 lens, because you will burn your fingers bad!

Right, i remember that! My short FL lens was impossible to mount with a focusing ring on it (went in too deep), and i did get burnt many times focusing it...

Do you have the Kryton Groove? Or the 1st run smooth barrel...
Jay

Hmm, i have the Kryton with the grooves for the rubber inserts around it.. So i guess it must be the groove.. :)

Is the diameter different?

Great!

Do i have to wait to get the focusing adapter before commenting on it?

I think you did Kenom and everyone using his hosts a big favor with these!

I really got all excited the moment i first noticed it! I mean, i never even started properly looking at my Kryton before, but after seeing your focusing adapter here, i immediatelly started assembling it (the switch was fun to figure out without instructions (didn't know where to look ))...

Looking forward to the focusing adaptor more than you can imagine!

If it's about how well it's made. I've seen your work before, and all the various modificationss you did for me on request.... I know it'll be just perfect. I don't have to wait to see and test it to know that.. :)

But i will post back once i get it.. Show off my kryton with the adaptor.. ;) It was the only thing missing!

Thank you for this!

Great Igor!

By the way, yes... the diameter of the Kryton barrels are different. (1st run vs Groove)

And you are correct that if you have the grooves for the rubber inserts, it is a 'Kryton Groove'.

I sized your EzFocus adapter (knurled) for the Groove. I'm heading to the Post Office in just a few...
Jay

Awesome! Can't wait to get it! :)

Otherwise, i really think you should have a link to the EZ-Focus adapter in your sig..
I only stumbled upon it by a lucky accident, and got all excited. I might not have found it otherwise.

Which reminds me. The forum change ate my sig and my avatar. And it won't let me upload a new one. In fact, it demands my new one be of only 100x100px and even after reducing it it still won't upload! :(

But i see yours is 200x200 and works?!? How didya do that?

Hmmm... I know that there is also a size limit on bytes. Is yours in gif format?

I think it used to be 100 X 100 but Avery recently changed it to 200 X 200.
Jay

Yes, it says 200 X 200 or 750kb...

Mine is JPG..

I'll try again. I don't know why it said 100x100 then..

EDIT: My bad.. I confused "Profile Picture" for "Avatar".. All good now.. :yh:

Umm Igor, nice to see you back again and in good spirits. In my sigline you can see the movie for instructions on assembling the Krtyon including the ever confusing tail section. I am curious now that you've got a Kryton in hand what you think of it? I know everyone else is impressed but I would like to know your thoughts.

Well Ken, I like them so much I have 3 now as you know. One for each color (405,532,and 650). :D:D Your video tutorial was very valuable with the builds. BTW, Jay I need another one of the EzFocus adapters with the knurled option for a Kryton grove barrel. Paypal sent for $27. ;)

Re: FS: Kryton EzFocus! Focusing Adapter For Kryton's!

Jay I was going to order the red lens from larry but I figure it might save me to order from you with shipping and I think he@ls on vacation or something he's not answering. What are the best lenses you have for reds.

I need to read lens cleaning articles because I'm scared to open my laser!

Oh and will this fit a kryton beast? Dark is going to assemble a 1 watt red for me once they come out, a easy focus, high quality lens and housing, 1 watt red, kryton beast should be crazy. I want to show it off to the forum :)

Re: FS: Kryton EzFocus! Focusing Adapter For Kryton's!

That would be the Hottest red around! The best lens for red so far is the Meredith glass 'optimized for red' lens. They only have about 20 left and I have about 5 on hand. They are going with their new broadband glass lens now, which is still good for red, but just not quite as good as the other.

Not sure what lens Larry has for red, but we both have the same blu-ray glass lens. Just different mounting methods. The 405-G-1 glass lens is still a good lens for red as well, but the Meredith is a little better.

Here's a list of a bunch of power comparisons I did with different lenses comparing both red and blu-ray:
http://laserpointerforums.com/laser_pointer_forums_3/forum/showthread.php?t=33965

Here's my Meredith Glass lens 'fit for AixiZ' thread:
http://laserpointerforums.com/laser_pointer_forums_3/forum/showthread.php?t=22501

As far as fitting the 'Kryton Beast', you will have to check with Kenom to see if it will be threaded for AixiZ like his other Kryton models were. Most likely it will be...
Jay

P.S. About cleaning, you would not have to clean the lens often if you keep a dust cap on there when not in use. But the lens will unscrew out from the module and you can clean it without taking your laser apart.

My style of mounting the lens allows you to take the lens assembly completely apart if you want to for easier cleaning of the optic if it becomes necessary. But you can still clean Larry's 'glued in' style as well. Just easier with mine...

Yeah See I would mess up that way, I'd rather not take the lens assembly apart.

Dust cap cool, know where to get some?

So anyways Kryton EZfocus and your lens assembly would be a beast in a Kryton Beast?

Re: FS: Kryton EzFocus! Focusing Adapter For Kryton's!

It's the best lens for reds at the moment yes...

But the 'Kryton Beast' (I believe) is going to be designed for a C-mount diode. But I'm not even sure about that.

The main thing is whether or not the 'Beast' will be threaded for AixiZ lens threads. If so, then yes, the Meredith glass modification 'fit for AixiZ' is the ticket...

Best to wait until you get the Kryton Beast in hand. These custom Group Buy's can take some time. Worth the wait, as any Kryton owner can tell you. But you have to be patient...
