FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assembly!

Re: FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assem

I had one of those 30mW police ones and I believe the module is the same size as the o-like modules. Not sure about the other one.

It looks like both are back ordered or discontinued anyway...

Yes, for now they are sold out.

Re: FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assem

How much I can see on the picture it looks like it is the same.
Then with 30mW police , you can just take out that module and put stronger from o-like, without any changes and adjustments.

Re: FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assem

The module is the same, but they may have their heatsink glued or pressed on. If you have the means to make a new heatsink for your fit, then it should be a piece of cake...

Re: FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assem

I was thinking that you can use that heatsink , just to take it off from original module, with little force it should get off..... :)
This is just what I think, I didn't saw it in personal.

Re: FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assem

I have a quick question about the modules. Are all green modules the same size? because the specs for that site you link to says they are all 63mm long and I am just wondering if most green lasers (or all) have the same size modules.

Reason I ask is because I recently fried a 120mW green of mine that is of that wicked brand... well, I now have a dead laser and a useless case. I am just wondering if I could buy one of the O-Like ones and simply put it in my currently useless host.

I would simply measure, but I am at work right now. Plus I am having serious problem trying to open the dang thing up, they really sealed that laser in there. Seems like I have to destroy the top head part just to get it open. Also, do you think the side button would line up? And I assume the module has the IR filter and optics built in.

Re: FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assem

Opening up the laser will probably be the hardest part...

Usually glued and/or press fit. The cheap O-like modules do not have an IR filter. But you could install one. I measured them and only got about 5mW's less power with a 50mW, and about 10mW's with a 100mW.

First try to determine the size of your module before you buy anything, but most likely it is the same size.

Re: FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assem

Yeah, I brought a few pliers/tools to work with me today with my dead laser, I am going to get that top off eventually. And since there is no IR filter for the O-Like ones, hopefully I can harvest the one in this laser without ruining it. Because I want to get the 150mW one, and based on your readings, it will probably be somewhere between 15-25mW of IR, which is enough for me to want to filter.

Re: FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assem

Nova sells these nice 10mm X 10mm IR filters. But they are kind of expensive. I believe I paid something like $10 dollars each, plus shipping...

I have a couple, and would sell you one for $12 bucks if you end up needing one.

Re: FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assem

Payment sent jay!;) and also maybe if it isnt to much trouble or costly could you print me free label that says
532nm Green Laser

and then 65mW?

white one black label?
if this is to much trouble then its ok jay! :)

Re: FS: DIY Green Kit! Host, Heatsink - Easy Assem

I'm sending your DIY Green kit and module tomorrow...

I don't print labels, but I have a good label that I will include. It is not a label made specifically for green, but for red. You can just cut the label to remove the part at the bottom that says 650nm. And it can be used. It is a good quality label...

Edit: I just went ahead and put the label on the host for you and the power of the module too...

Let me know when you get it!
