Why does he need a middle man?
He's a Trusted member and has sold lots of lasers.
His meter is 99% accurate. Are you just jealous that your lasers dont sell ?

You obviously read as little as he does or is it just that you understand as little as he does. His outputs are improbable at best. His voltage inputs cannot support the outputs his meter is showing. At least NOT for very long. We told him that the other day, and still he posts an even more powerful output. Either he is intentionally trying to mislead people or his meter is screwed up. In either event, whoever buys this from him should do so with their eyes wide open.

I would take umbrage at the statement that he is a "trusted" member of this forum. He has ripped off at a minimum the intellectual property of another member for profit. In addition, how the hell can you say that his meter is 99% accurate? What instrument did YOU test it with?

He needs a middle man because his outputs are in question.

Peace,
dave

how can that diode stand 190ma ? 160mw ?? damn thats strong. i wonder how long it will lase. since its in a dx pen module,it has bad heat sinking.

dude the meter reads the light, not the flockin voltage. the 2 10440 cells provide 4.2v at full charge and regular 3.7. 3.7x2= 7.4volts. thats plenty power for the laser.

So you don't read. These diodes require higher voltages at higher power. Above 140mW the diode is drawing closer to 6V. 6V for the diode = 2.2V for the driver is 8.2V. Even at lower powers these diode are being starved for power. 5V for the diode and 2.2V for the driver is 7.2V. So at lower outputs, 7.4V IS enough to run it with fresh batteries. However, how long will it run before it falls below regulation? As soon as the batteries fall .2V it will begin to loose power. If you bought a laser from anyone that began to loose power after only a few minutes of operation, how happy would you be about that? Would you be defending WL's right to list it at the higher output like you seem to be here? Or would you be screaming SCAMM!! because they sold a laser that was only putting out what they said it did for just a short while?

Peace,
dave

Hey while we're being off-topic here, it's "lose" not "loose" (which sounds like "moose").

I almost got pissed when reading this thread. But then I got into it! Dave, I wish I could even spell thoes words! lol And Wesdaman, I wish I knew even the slightes about lasers. I know that they are bright, and I can even spell it. ;D
Ans now some magic light, shiny, bright looking thing; laying ontop of my grass!

This thread is SCREAMING my name... *sigh* I'll behave.

Jake - if you want your meter, or your lasers tested for accuracy - feel free to PM me - I won't charge you a thing for testing them out for you this once - you pay shipping, and you will get
{Wes - is, "Shipping" too big ?} peace of mind - either you will know for sure that your meter is worthless, or measurements were wrong, or something to that extent. Open offer for you - I have a newly calibrated Coherent FieldmaxII TO with a PM3 Thermal (it means it measures heat, Wes...) sensor. Brand smacking new, too :)
