Heat sinks have never been a big number item. Heat sinks rarely fail
so you have to wait for someone to want to build a new laser with the 3405 host. When a diode or driver fail, we rebuild using the same heat sink. Add to that the sheer number of different hosts available now and you have a very limited market.
It is one of the reasons why Jayrob has to constantly be pumping his muse (and why it is so easy to dilute the market to the point where it doesn't make any profit).
I have to want to build a new laser even though I already have a perfectly good working laser.
