This is some testing I did with HLPM II (with LPC-815 driven at quite low current):

650-G-1: 233mW
AixiZ glass lens: 202mW (<- wtf??)
AixiZ acrylic lens: 196mW

As you can see there is hardly ANY difference between AixiZ glass and acrylic, that confuses me a bit...

skwsith, just to let you know that I sent your 650-G-1 glass lens mod (and other item) today. (Saturday)

:thanks:

Thanks jayrob, for the excellent lenses and prompt int'l delivery! I performed various tests and indeed the beam quality is much better as for the Lens-27. I used my own mounts for them. Some results are shown here .

Regards,
RX

That's an awesome shop you have there!

Nice reference write up...

Thanks for posting back! :)

Jay with this lens what red diode would be the strongest you could get? I think I heard that 400mw is the highest for red right now.... but I don't think that's accurate

You can push a LCC diode to 400mW's with my 650-G-1 glass lens, but most likely, it will not last long at that power...

420mA's/295mW's is a fairly safe power for a long open can diode using this lens...

The problem with red is that there aren't being made new diodes. With bluray and green you can get higher and higher powers and new diodes/modules are made all the time, but with red the LPC is still the most powerful, with "only" 300mW+.. And it's so cheap that everyone owns one, so it's nothing special.

You won't regret it! It's a very nice lens assembly... :)
