FS: 520nm Build in Stainless Steel Side Clicky Host, also bulk "A140" 445nm diodes

Up for sale is a neat build that I finished this summer. I'm using a microboost drive with an Osram PLP520-B1 diode, and the build takes a single 18650 battery (not included). This is a slick build, and was pretty tricky to put together.

This is an interesting diode, because even though it is multimode, this build has very good divergence (better than possibly all of my 532nm handhelds). I'm using an AixiZ acrylic lens here to keep the output beam tame, although a G2 lens would give more power out. I am not driving this diode very hard, just a little over its rated current actually.

I want $125 shipped to the US for the build, which is just over the price of parts for the build. Payment by PP gift or you pay fees. International buyers PM me for a shipping quote.price drop to $100

I'm also selling ten packs of 445nm diodes pulled from used projectors. I've mixed up the diodes but at least half are from A255 projectors, and there are some from A140 projectors. Don't think there are any M series diodes in the mix, and there are no A130 diodes mixed in either. The diodes were working before extraction, but just in case there's a dead one in there I'll send 11 diodes. Due to their sensitive nature I'm selling the diodes as-is, no returns. $110 shipped to the US, all other places ask for quote. I can put as many of them into AixiZ modules as you'd like for an extra $4 per diode.

That is a very nice build and a very nice price, Styro. Where'd you get the host? It looks like it would be a nice host for one of the new 488nm diodes (if they're legitimate.)

It doesn't look so, but can you adjust the focus without disassembling the laser?

Definitely a nice looking host none the less.

Thanks! I bought the host from a crazyspaz a while ago, but I'm not sure where he got it. I originally wanted it for a 375nm diode, but never bought one so I ended up putting in this green diode.

Yes it is focus adjustable! I'll upload a picture of the front before long.

Do you have a complete KE-array of A140 type with all LDs and mirrors on places? Or of H1700 type?

At the current time I want to hold on to my complete diode bricks, but I will let you know when I decide to sell them. I want to use them to build a laser pumped flashlight of some sort.

Hmm a SS host... very tempting. I would go for it if exchange rate wasn't complete crap, that's the excuse I've been using lol. Good luck on the sale

That it was...ha ha. The switch was not easy to work with, and the whole setup was very similar to putting together a pen laser. Very nice looking host though!

I gotta say...it seems the hobby laser market here is pretty weak...at least on the seller's end. :) I can't sell my C-mount labby for $350 and this for $100. I would not have expected that! Maybe I just over value my $h!t :D

Changing times is all. Thats why i decided to get out a while back- before i lost all of my investment. Plus, with changing laws it's not smart flashing watts of laser around...and i moved to a more crowded area, then college... I hope you can manage to find a few buyers though!

I feel like the laser craze is dying.. which is either a good or bad thing for the rest of us depending on how you look at it. When I first started this hobby about two years ago... every time I showed someone a laser they thought I was a laser terrorist in some form.. "does the nsa know your doing this?" So yea ramble but good luck on the sale/sell. That's a super deal given the work done

Hey Crazy;)
The price is fine. That diode is pricey. I think it has a lot to do with most are in the market for power over specs now which is a shame as a bunch of us agree that single modes are special. I specifically built every single mode that DTR sells 6-12 months ago plus a few others in pens as their outputs match the pen format nicely. You shouldn't have to lower the price on this unit anymore.
By the way, are you at school up here? Thought you were supposed to be here by now but it doesn't seem like you are.

Yeah I'm at school at UR now! My classes are insane. :O I knew it was going to be difficult, but it honestly caught me off guard. My optics classes are straight up brutal and my math class is taught by the guy who wrote the 5th most cited book in physics. I will not have a life for the next year...

That being said we will have to get together before long and play with some lazors! :D

Can you knock the power down to 5mw and lower the price to about $80.00? I mean no insult and I am sure you have at least this much in it. I am asking for a co-worker who just broke his 532nm pointer and it appears you had no luck.
