I just had the same switch fail in my laser. The guts really do suck - why on earth do they use such a small spring inside of the unit??

C'mon did you actually look at the rest of the thread? That's the same switch I'm using now and it's got a high fail rate. You can buy the same thing from 300 different retailers but regardless of where it comes from it's the same switch. Bad switch... Nice try though.

Here's three things to look into:

Yueqing Daier Electronics Co., Ltd. Ask the Chinese if they can give you a hand.

Lumapower Upgrade Switch. No idea about dimensions. It is $7.50 a piece.

Surefire 6P/C1 Replacement. No idea about dimensions as compared to your goals, but it's only $3.50.

That might work. As you said though. No spring and it would have to be modified so that it made connection to the side of the barrel. Defenitly looks like it would fit into the hole though wouldn't stick through the other side. The hole leading to the outside is a smaller diameter than the 16mm the other hole is.
