Wow this is exactly what I was looking for! I baught a microboost mainly because the flex doesnt seem to be available and didnt know what to buy. This looks like alot more fun! I dont quite get the dork bot stuff though... :thinking: Hmmm shoulda been dorkier!

You just e-mail that guy the board file and tell him how many you want, along with your shipping address and he'll send you a link to pay......

you have to buy in sets of 3 though.
 





Hey guys, here is another design--16.5mm round version for most flashlight pills. This was forked from the originally posted design "R6 R9" so it uses 0805 caps and has no OVP.

Great job. I never understand how the traces work on the design. Oh well as long as it works I am happy. :)

I have been puting together a parts list from digi and couldnt find the exact lm3410
will this do? LM3410XMFCT-ND digi part #

Just a noob question why the driver can only provide 1.2A to the 445 diode while the IC is rated with "2.8A Typical Switch Current" :thinking:

Because it requires more input current than output current in order to boost voltage.
 
I got an order in for 27 round and 27 with ovp. I dont really plan on selling them... the digikey order for parts for 100 came to 488$ without the boards but allmost everything is 50% off in lots of 100+ and I order 100 of 6 resistors. Hope I can learn how to reflow... Shake and Bake!@
 
can I buy a reflow controler anywhere? or can I just follow the reflow giude and controle the temps manually with the thermistat and a timer?

Anone wana put lasers on my birds? I was thinkin a red bar beam for the military out of her headband and a couple nasty osram blue's for the scarlet (zephy really is a biache') I cant get my photoshop to work on this 64bit build...

I don't know why it wouldn't work... I have both 64 bit and 32 bit versions of photoshop working perfectly fine on Win 7 64bit.

Also; I have no experience whatsoever with reflowing... all I know is it can be done relatively easily with a cheap toaster oven.

well I think that this project will be a good challenge for me. I got 27 of each to ruin and learn. I'll make a new post on it all whenever I start getting shiz... damn batteries and chargers were ordered feb 22 Dinodirect and some more fron DX hosts etc same week and I still dont have anything. aixis, modwerks, cajun have been the speediest.
Mo'z order was probably held up from the damn 1" marbles and sent to the radioactive sort section... lol Hopefully monday!
 
Reflowing is super easy.

I'll tell you what can be really enlightening. Take one PCB that you don't need, and just do a super-intentionally-sloppy job of putting solder paste on it. Seriously, make sure to intentionally do it as fast as you can, so that the quality is really low.

Don't waste parts on this - just put the PCB in and observe the whole process. Watch how the liquid solder flows.

This will give you a sense for the level of perfection you need to seek when laying down solder past for real.
 
Lol, from the few videos which I've seen, not only does the solder paste allow to be sloppy... but once it starts to melt, surface tension tends to pull parts into alignment...

You can't really mess it up, even if you try kinda thing ?

Well, you CAN mess it up. The most problematic issue I've run into is the impact of using too much paste. Use very little, you don't need much at all.
