What's up guys I'm Jay from south FL. I was looking on eBay to get a cheap laser to mess with my dog n just play around with n didn't realize how many diff kinds of lasers there were. I found the 301 n 303 n started searching to try n find out the diff when I found this site on google. I see that they are both cheap and from what I read a good entry level laser. I wasn't able to figure out the diff n which 1 I should buy. I hoped to see what your recommendations are and if there are any diff in the 2 or if I should buy a diff 1 all together. I was looking to spend between 10-15, wanted 1 that used a 18650 batt (same as my e-cigg), came with 2 batt n charger, rotating star attachment thing, and laser. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Also can somebody point me in the right direction for where to look on here about diff lasers. I'd like to find out the min strength I need to light a match n be able to burn paper/plastic and get a good deal. Thanks

Please don't use lasers with animals. Unless you can get them to wear proper eye protection leave the dog out of the plans when your using lasers.

You would need under 5mw of power to use it with a dog. And even then I wouldn't recommend using it. The thing with many 5mw ebay lasers is that they're almost always way overspec and tend to leak a lot of IR.

I want to buy a 100 watt green laser diode and am looking for a good host for it, can anyone help? LOL

IF you actually want a dog/cat toy you're likely to find one someplace where you get gas in the nick-nack section. It will be red and you will only see a small dot. Would say that if it uses a tiny button cell battery you are good to go. THE stuff you are looking at on Ebay are not toys regardless of how they are advertised.

Look for the green laser pointer on ThinkGeek. It is still bright, yet it does output <5mw, I believe, as ThinkGeek is usually a trustworthy source. As far as I can tell (still a major n00b), it is properly aligned and very good quality, and pet safe.

NOOOOOOO!!!!!! Thinkgeek is so overpriced for not good quality. Try laserglow. Expensive, but the best quality you can ever have!

Welcome. The more you research the happier you will be in the end. Check the saftey section too!!! Goggles!!!

Its not a hobby! Its a lifestyle. Ha!

He is saying they are probably going to send a spec, laser, he is not stating if they are a good price. :)

not all the above is good advice IMHO

10fenny is correct- you need to do some searching on your own- comes with the forum and its free.

we like to help but if we had a choice it wold be ONLY new questions- not thse asked many many times.

put yr location in your profile so it shows- better help if you add that ..

I have lived all over Florida--

something we agree on-but looks like you have me blocked??

anyway dogs and lasers can be a bad mix- seen some very unhappy pooches whose owners think thier obsession with the 'dot' is somehow amusing.

some dogs are interested but NOT obsessed -some dont care and afiak no cats get obessed
the dogs who are obsessed and victims of abuse IMHO--

& its a slippery slope- if the dog goes crazy for the dot- its time to invest in a tennis ball and get off the couch.
