FocalPrice 532nm 200mW Green Keychain Laser

Well you are not limiting yourself to hitting a moving target in the eyeball with your gun.

If you are going to use something that will be life changing like hitting an attacker in the eye with a powerful laser you might as well just shoot them with a gun. The dead are not likely to sue for loss of vision in a self defense situation. And even if it was a clear cut case of self defense you would probably still loose a lawsuit because even the Geneva convention says lasers weapons are cruel and inhumane. Thus banned as an weapon on the battlefield. Also you cannot use your hand to stop a bullet like you can with a beam of light.

All valid points that i did not think of. I live in NY so shooting someone will get you time in most situations even when your defending yourself. Florida you can just shoot someone that just walks in your house. I Wouldn't think a 120mw laser would cause serious eye damage from 20ft away would it?

It was just mostly food for thought instead of trying to pepper spray someone from close up you would have more of an advantage with a laser being a laser can hit them from farther away.

I find the self defence scenario rather far out.
But I do happen to have a 1½ hand sword in my bedroom. :D

In rural Ohio, the Sheriff says if you shoot them coming in a door or window they better be inside when they arrive. Even if you have to got outside and "help" them through the window. Then toss a bucket of water on the stained grass, ground. Concrete, add clorox lol. :eg:
Just take the collimation lens out and you won't have to aim much at all. Then run.

Edit: My son and I did try or 1st beam shots with my Fuji S700 camera. Not very good IMO(sorry). It doesn't represent what we saw and this is the best one we shot. :undecided: It was a full moon and no haze or smoke. It seems the camera timed the exposure on the brightest beam as a ref.
The left is a 200mw DX module, middle is the FocalPrice 200mw Keychain and the right is my 532nm 5mw overspec.(maybe 25-30mw?) This isn't the way we saw it at all. The DX was much brighter but closer to the FocalPrice and even the 5mw has a very nice beam. The 405nm didn't even show up! I need to find the manual! The FocalPrice burns black plastic easily, but isn't quite as bright beam wise as the DX.

I Have an AK-47 with a bunch of mods to it including a laser sitting right by my bed. :yh:

I do appreciate a nice sword though. I have 3 but there just for display. Now a tomahawk.... that would be something pretty cool to take down a burglar with.

It sounds like you are not familiar with Danish weapons regulations.
I have a permit for a blades collection, that means any number of swords in my home and transported for sale.
The usual regulations is below 7 cm unlocked for everyday carry or 7 days in jail with a 3000Kr fine ($500). I am not sure about lasers, but assume it is similar strict.

I'm from the U.S. and the only other place I lived in was Asia for 3 and 1/2 years, so I'm definitely not familiar with Danish weapons regulations. Do you have to have a permit to even own a knife? I know here in NY the blade cannot be longer than width of your palm. I think somewhere around 4-6 inches. I was in the military so i have all kinds of knives. front opening, automatic, double sided blade. I was allowed to have them when i was in not too sure abut it now though.

More or less, at least if it appears to be a weapon and not a kitchen or hunting/fishing knife.
You can carry around a small non-lockable folder.

It is a recent tightening of regulations, the most infamous example was the guy who got 7 days for having a box-cutter in his car.

Does the permit just apply to carrying them in public or can you not have them in the home without one either?

You do not need a permit to own kitchen knives or hunting/fishing/working knives.
You do need a permit for knives that appear as weapons, like e.g. a mediaeval dagger. Or anything not kitchen related above 12cm.

A permit is easy to get and free, the restrictions really kicks in at carrying knives around.

that makes a lot of sense...

Don't over discharge that 10440... those batt. are notorious for that. They have protected ones I'll bet that they will fit in there. You could trim the spring if you have to.;)

Update.

I returned a focalprice "200mW" keychain that was only putting out ~75mW, and they sent me a new one that meters at close to 150mW.

crappy video quality :yabbmad:
The whole process took a few months, but they sent me a model that is much more powerful.

The laser is focused (and glued) for close-range burning and has a large dot at a distance. Lights matches extremely fast.

*1000th post

I have a green Key chain one from focal price also. When i put in a fully charged fresh battery it can light a match. After the first one that's pretty much it. For the price you really can't beat that, I've had it for 4-5 months now and it still works with no problems. I guess i got lucky.

Hi, I've bought this laser.
is very bright and burning, but the divergence is horrible.
I tried to focus it better, but do not solve the problem.
Surely the lens is designed to burn better but not good divergence.
Someone changed the lens?
Some improvement in the gap?
Where I can buy a lens to improve the divergence?
Thanks

I was thinking about getting this laser or another 200mw laser Focalprice.com offers 200mW 532nm Green Laser Pointer (Black) ,discount 200mW 532nm Green Laser Pointer (Black),200mW 532nm Green Laser Pointer (Black) products, low price 200mW 532nm Green Laser Pointer (Black),cheap 200mW 532nm Green Laser Pointer (
(that one)
so I think I should get the other one cause people were saying that the key chain one didn't burn stuff well. and also, the not-keychain laser is run on AAA batteries so thats a good thing too. so what do u guys think?? HELP ME PLZ

You can get that one. But, usually focalprice lasers don't meet the power "specifications" stated (ie: you order a 200mW, and they may send you a 50mW or a 100mW). Essentially, you are rolling the dice ordering from FP. If you order the regular "pen" style one you will likely get one that is less than 100mW, but you may get lucky and get one over 100mW, but probably not 200mW. :undecided:
