It would be a waste (IMO). The modules heat up (to over 100F) in a matter of ~15 seconds.Has anyone attempted to remove the module from one of these? Might be a good way to get cheap modules for other projects...
Mine was metered at (peak) 83mW (avg) 71mW on my Laserbee I and it has really poor focus.I would love to grab one of these, just cuz! But, grrrrrr anyone else have a meter to test it?
I tried mine with brand new 10440's. Fully charged, it still only puts out ~80mW max. :yabbmad:Has anyone with a power meter tried some quality batteries like an AW 10440 compared to the stock one and see if it makes a difference in output? Thinking that some of the variations we are seeing may be battery related.
You mean the lens? I'm sure it can be brought into focus, but I am planning on returning/exchanging mine, and don't want to open it for fear that FocalPrice won't take it back (w/o QC sticker). The focus can be changed by removing the cap and unscrew/screw the focusing mechanism.

If they won't give me an RMA# for it, I will fix the focus, and keep my ~80mW keychain.
I tried focusing mine but the divergence does not seem to get any better than where the lens was originally. I guess this laser is made for burning and not for pointing far away.
Hey guys. Got my LPM from Lasersbee today. So first thing I did was do a power test on this little gem.
VIDEO LINK
It is stable at 120mW with a max of 128mW. Hope this helps.
It is hot as well, the battery has not been recharged since I got it, and I have been playing with it a lot today. I will do another test on a fresh battery in a cooler environment when I get home tonight.
EDIT
Also the power went down in the middle of the test because I was not looking and the laser was moving off the sensor pad which is why it jumped back up to 120mW.
Thanks for making that video! Looks like you got a keeper. What's the longest time you have ran it for? Does it get any dimmer as it heats up?
