First Laser 650nm Lpc-815 LOC

None that I know of. I know you can buy the bare lens for around half that but the problem is it won't just fit right into an AixiZ nut. Jayrob had to do some machining in order to get it to fit right.

Lol, btw anyone know where to get a lens thats about equivalent to the g1 but cheaper cause i dont wanna spend 2 much

how wont it fit? do u mean its too small or too big?

also do you know how to build a compact daedel cirsuit or just a normal one and also whats the difference between a daedel and a normal capacitor,resistor,lm317 driver?

Thanks and btw thank you kevlar you've helped me alot throughout this post.

and Btw i bought a lpc sled of optiforce and he sent me a message saying he had sent it like 1 month ago and it would arrive in 1 to 2 days.....
im scared that it has been lost or maybe taken by cutoms but i dont really think that would happen because its only a spare part from a dvd burner to them, Help please and will he give me a refund if it doesnt arrive? I hope i didnt waste 15 bucks, btw guys do you know anyone who sells good lpc sleds for cheap with free shipping? Thanks!!! :)

Also please take a look at some questions above and give me answers please

thanks

The lens is too big. Jayrob does a good job of illustrating what needs to be done in his FS thread here, take a look: http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/fs-405-g-1-glass-lens-mod-31-increase-vs-aixiz-22497.html (it's the same process for the g-1-glass for red/650nm)

Daedel is just the member's name who first stated using the LM317 as a constant current driver IC for us LPF members. So there is no difference. The only way to build a compact one is to use SMD parts and it's difficult to solder those parts. As far as building a normal LM317 based current regulator, it's not difficult but it doesn't fit many hosts. You might have seen this site before but I found helpful for building the LM317 driver: Laser driver - It can be done

You're welcome

I've heard the person that runs that website is a LPF member and very good to deal with although I've never dealt with him personally.

You can get LPC's from a few different places. You'll have to figure out which is the best deal for you. There is a GB that was going on, I don't know if you can still get in on it, just check with Scopeguy20. Sometimes he orders extras and sells them, here is the link: http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/fast-sled-gb-60807.html

Also, three other links: LPC-815 20x DVD burner laser lens assembly w/ red laser diode [M0021] - $8.99 : Modwerx Shop

HighTechDealZ - Lasers

LPC-815 20X DVD burner diode out of sled [LPC-815_1] - $12.99 : StoneTek Electronics, Your Laser Parts Store

Good luck!!!

There seems to be some disagreement on this point -

Is the LOC a 650 or 660nm diode? I would have assumed 650, but I've seen it referred to as 660 in a number of locations.

It gets referred to as both but the data sheet states the typical wavelength is 660nm but can range from 654nm to 664nm.

Fantastic / exciting news for me at least. If the LOC is 660, then it means that a planned 635nm at 360mw should have about a 5.5x brighter beam than a LOC at 275mw :)

You have a 635nm diode that will reach 360mW!!!! Wow, where did you get it?

I'll do a good build guide etc once this project is underway, no worries :)

WOW whered you get that freak diode from????

also people please look at any unanswered questions and try to give me an answer please

Thanks!!

Sorry for double post But i need help seriously can someone answer my unanswered questions

thanks

Maybe you should clarify your outstanding questions, instead of expecting anyone to reread and dissect what they might be.

Sorry - just suggesting that you might have better luck if you specifically reiterated what your outstanding questions were, instead of just asking for them to be answered.

What ^^^he^^^ said. What exactly is your question?

Well really i just need to know some info on how much heatsinking will be needed at 420ma cause i will be using a cree c3 and i need a good lens that will increase my output but im not ready to splash out 55 dollars for a Jayrob g1 yet. Also will i need to heatsink a linear driver? if i have to then i will probably attatch copper peices to the main components

Also i recommend Jib's drivers, they fit into a aixiz module, are good quality and i think they come preset to 1.3a, under special request he can make desired ma for you but it might take a while for him to order parts, also the other best thing about them is they are TEN DOLLARS INCLUDING SHIPPING!!! where do you expect to find a driver like his for that cheap???? IMO they r excellent

Im also interested in someone who can machine a heatsink for my cree c3 for cheap, like ten dollars if possible but i want good quality

sorry for being to lazy to repeat my questions

Thanks!

I would run it at 400. You'll need a heat sink of course, but not copper or anything crazy. I doubt the lm1117 will need heat sinking , unless you give it way too much voltage. Just go with a coated glass aixiz lens.
