First Cyan build. More like 495nm

I actually built this months ago but haven’t been on in a while, I apologize for that
Finally decided to do this Sharp Diode build. I know it’s such a common host but I had to do a C6 since I’ve got a few from Survival. Plus I kinda wanna have every wavelength possible in all C6s
220ma Driver. Apx 495nm
C6 and all parts bought from Gary, I honestly like supporting him and Jordan so that’s why i keep going for C6.

Hey, Richie. Photos don't do these justice, so I can't say what yours is from a photo, but it looks too blue to be 495nm. Those look more green than blue. All my light blue ones measure between 486.6nm and 488nm. Once you get to 490nm they start looking green. The higher you go from there, the more green they look. Nice build, though.

I have the same fetish with 501B hosts with 4 different diodes..

I like collecting wavelengths and putting them in the skyray hosts, Rich/Lifetime17 makes really nice heat sinks for them and I also have made a few of my own, I use the different color silicon switch caps which you guys may also like, I find them at fastech and dealextreme usually.

hey thanks buddy, yeah a spectrometer would be great right about now ha ha! I was trying to do a rough estimate based on the current, theyre around 487-489 on apx 100-130ma if I remember on Jordans site, since this is around 220ma I figured around 495ma but youre right, im probably way off. it definitely looks too blue for 495, cameras definitely have a hard time catching this WL. let me borrow your ocean optics lol! yea right, I have no idea how to work that high tech device

you and Paul are right, its probably 5 nanometers off lol! especially in person, I don't see any green at all I love the 501s also, but I don't have heat sinks for them

hey Red! I have yet to have a bad ass Skyray host laser, which I want really bad, I never seem to have enough money aside for a skyray build, I keep playing that lottery though, any day now. I think ive seen some of them on previous posts
yeah usually you can find some pretty cool stuff on Fasttech and DX. im thinking of picking up that 200mw 532nm module from DX, its like 26 bucks and has good reviews, pretty cheap for a 200me dpss so its probably 140mw most likely but still pretty good

Richie, if you get a Skyray plug and play from Lifetime17, i'll give you a Apltightingworld 532 200mw labby. It only averages about 125mw but is so so so stable and focasable and pretty much has a 100% duty cycle. I ran it for 15 minutes and was still super stable.
My first 200mw from them does around 175mw so I got another. So it a crap shoot like the 301's.
I'm waiting for a 300mw unit so curious to see what this one comes in.

It's from Apltlightingworld. Kinda like that store since you told me about it a couple years back.
They ship pretty quick for a China?? based warehouse and have a tracking# that actually works instead of just finding what you ordered in your mail box from other places a month later. This 300mw though I think got stuck in US customs a bit longer and is taking a little longer.

The 300mw unit was $68.18 to be exact and just uses a 12V wall wart I think and hope. I'll be happy if its in the 230mw to 250mw's.
I saw the TEC cooled ones like yours and didn't want the hassle's of hooking it up. Lets see what I get

I still love the 488-495nm beams and good divergence too from these Sharp diodes.

see that's the kind of stability Im looking for. im getting a little bored of my meesly little 40 and 70mw modules. I need more power!

Ebay seller newgazer and techhood - same seller, different accounts.

Of all of the China sellers on ebay, techhood is certainly one of the best of the bunch, and appears to be honest, but you never know who is who on ebay, so many laser parts sellers are operating under different accounts there.
