Hello,

I going to make my first laser:p. Not just a regular laser but a yellow laser.

I gonna made this laser with a green and red laser. I read on this forum that for a good yellow laser you need a ratio of 1:4.
I gonna buy this two lasers modules.
DealExtreme: $7.29 5mW 532nm Green Laser Module (3V 11.9mm)
DealExtreme: $7.89 20mW 650nm Red Laser Module (3~4.5V 12mm)

I want to combine the beam with a lens from a dvd burner. As power supply i want to use a regular 9v battery.

The idea.

During this project i post pictures.

If you guys have any suggestions or i do something wrong. I like to hear it.

p.s. sorry for my bad englisch:D

You cannot use the 9V battery to power both of the lasers. Nine volts is too much for the green module. It might be too much for the red module depending on what driver you are using.

Second, the green module will be case positive

Also, those "square" 9V batteries suck for continuous power draw.

Peace,
dave

ow, I thought that if i connect the 2 laser modules paralel that each laser get 4.5v.

But if you say that a 9v square is not a good power source. What source can i use instead.

are 4 AA Battery's better? 2 AA's for each laser.

You should start out with the dual color RED & GREEN LASER from DX & then do the MOD that Jayrob came up with using ROG11's mod as a model.

It is easiest to power them separately.

What power source is good enough will depend on what driver you are using. 3-4.2V will be good enough for the green module. What driver are you going to use for the red?

Peace,
dave

yea if you connect them in parallel, each one has to drop 9V, and yea those 9V batteries don't last long at all.

The red driver is with driver, isnt it?

I don't take the hybrid green+red laser because it needs special battery's. I don't get that battery's and i got no charger for them. I don't want to spend money on that.

Sorry. I didn't check the link. I think we can assume a driver because DX is listing it with a voltage input. However, check it when you get it. No one has written a review of it yet. If it has a driver then 3V will be fine for it as well.

Peace,
dave

Maybe it sounds rear.
I have no hobby boxxes. But i got an old laptop adapter. I think i gonna use the housing of that adapter as housing for my laser.

Those boxes are often hard to get open, you might want to check carefully. Also the plastic is quite flexible if i remember correctly, they only feel rigid because of the components inside. I may well be wrong, and it does vary from model to model though.

If you look at the final part of JAYROB'S tutorial on his version ROG11's yellow build, you'll see how JAY cleverly set up an arrangement where you can use a single 10440 battery for that build. That way you have a single, easily obtained, re-chargeable battery, instead of 2, primary, hard-to-find, "N" size batteries............rob

I love yellow lasers! I was considering this as a future project..

If you haven't seen this thread already, it may be of some help.

There is also a link on the page for a good dichro that will work great for your application!

Post many picts!

Thank you for that link.
I thought it was possible to combine the green and red beam using a lens form a phr sled.
Do you think that the my lens wil work for my project. Or shal i buy the dichro g-r Laser Optics-PBS, Dichros G-R, Dichros B-GR, Mirror from Lasever
