FEELER CNI 561nm 5mW pointers.

Re: FEELER: CNI 589nm and special wavelength <5mw pointer GB

So they said that they cannot offer 561nm in a pointer or as a portable laser. Sorry guys.

But we still have a good deal on the pointers... if we want any...

Oh they can. They will not shatter my 561nm hopes and dreams. Did you tell them you were buying more than one. I think I remember reading that 561nm pointers etc are custom builds and they will only do it if buying in "bulk"

I asked them if there was any way, still waiting on a reply, I won't give up on this cause there is alot of interest for it.

That's strange. A couple weeks ago I got a quote for a 561 PGL-III-A. Did you specify <5mW?

Sorry to mess up your hopes but it's kinda mutually accepted between us that were talking about less than 5mw. I'm doing some convincing (or trying to) so let's see what he says.

UPDATE OH MY GOD UPDATE: 260$ FOR A 561NM POINTER UNDER 5mW!!!

Re: FEELER: CNI rare/special wavelength <5mw pointer GB, low prices!

Sooooo yea. This needs to happen.

Of course! This quote brings 561nm pointers into the same playing field as 473 & 589/593.5 ones :D

PS:I was told by ultimatekaiser you should expect a very, very short duty cycle on these.

What was your quote on the PGL version? All in all I still want one over 5mw, but that dream is dead haha. I'll take what I can get. Pen, handheld, 5mw, 1mW whatever

PGL-III-A-561 <5mW is $800 :(

Darn. I mean the money isn't too much of an issue but guatenteed I'd end up on the news after the girl found out and not for any good reason.

Anyways, sorry for the thread drift. Back on track. Very interested in a 561nm GLP then

Re: FEELER: CNI rare/special wavelength <5mw pointer GB, low prices!

The last time I got one those CNI "5mW" 473nm handhelds it would usually put out 15mW after warming up. So you'll probably get an overspec laser. That was for $315 back when Scopeguy was hosting GBs. These prices here are pretty close to the old CNI Scopeguy GB prices, so in my mind it's a pretty good deal.

i'd say this really should happen. but there's no fun in 589nm pointers when higher powers are available... maybe a canadian member can take it over so they can get high powered 589's?

if people would be more willing to do that, i think thats what should happen. however if people only want the 5mW pointers, then this definitely could happen. however my words are not set in stone: something may come up, or i may not be able to do this, so dont feel like this is going to happen, its a maybe for me, and if someone else would be willing to do this, that would be ok in my mind. we will see though, i might be able to but who knows.

idk, they seem to be adamant about nothing over 5mW going to the US, maybe even if that means over-spec 5mW.

How many units was the quote for? Just curious

Canada view---

Over 5mW you run into the same problems in Canada as you run into here in USA,

I found this on Laserglows web site -- "In Canada: Consumers are not permitted to purchase portable lasers classified as Class 3B or higher, as per Health Canada regulations. You may only purchase a high-powered portable laser by submitting a Purchase Order on behalf of an organization (company, government department, or educational institution) with a defined commercial or academic requirement for such a device. The device may not subsequently enter into commerce within Canada. (It may not be sold, rented, loaned, or given away.) "

According to Justin VP of Laserglow : "The actual regulation which was implemented in June 2011 is called the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) and you can find the full mind-numbing legal document here: Canada Consumer Product Safety Act Canada Consumer Product Safety Act
The Act specifies that nobody may make available to the public a hazardous device of any kind. Therefore, if you build one, as a hobbyist, and sell it or give it away, you are in violation of the Act.
If you attempt to sell or make available a portable laser which is Class 3B or higher, Health Canada has an incredible array of powers to utilize against you, including product seizure, mandatory recall, huge fines, etc. Note, it doesn't need to be a sale. Giving one of these to your brother for free would be considered a violation."

wow, i had no idea. well, i guess we're not getting that in a group buy anytime soon.

fairly certain he was talking about only 1... i could ask for the quantity discount but i don't really want to, becuase its so cheap and i dont want to seem like everything has to be super cheap.
