You will need to hook the wires to a battery (or combination of batteries), or a bench power source, that gives you somewhere between 9 and 12 volts

Peace,
dave

Re: ** F/S** BR with driver in Aixiz Module $35

I would like to buy one, with an out-put of about 100mw.

If you have one for sale still PM me.

so this is pretty much a working laser without housing or batteries? I don't need anything other than batteries? :o If so PM me if you have any left :D

Re: ** F/S** BR with driver in Aixiz Module $35

if you have any left come saturday i'll take 5! ;D

Re: ** F/S** BR with driver in Aixiz Module $35

I've updated the 1st post page.

For those that want to confirm it again. you can use batteries from 9v upto 12v so anything from and upto is ok.

If you'll like me to set it to your custom setting, please make sure you list it in the paypal note to seller are.

Yes, you can pm me if you like to confirm before paying.

Dave thanks for the replying.

This below is the Glass lense on the right and the normal plastic on the left, for those that ask whats the difference.
The Glass is said to let more light pass the lense and that in term means more power.

This picture, abit faint but you can see the back end of each lense, showing how big the hole is than that of the plastic lense. But i'll cut the plastic off the plastic lense anyways.
Note how the Glass lense on the right is also longer than the plastic, and the body of the glass is made of metal and the plastic ones plastic.

Re: ** F/S** BR with driver in Aixiz Module $35

Just a note about the Aixiz glass lense, the glass is AR coated for 650nm so it reflects a lot of the light back into the diode, and it reduces the output power pretty badly.

But this is a great price, a while ago I sold a couple of these for $55 a piece.

Re: ** F/S** BR with driver in Aixiz Module $35

Styropyro, you mean the spare lense you buy seperate? from the aixiz module? cause Greg told me they are better thats why i bought them.

well at $35 inc shipping im not making much of them, just like to make lasers :) not really a buisness you can live off ;D

Re: ** F/S** BR with driver in Aixiz Module $35

Could someone recommend a good host on DX for these? I don't know what will/won't fit or be the correct voltage.

Thanks!

Yea. I also would like to know that. Would be awesome with some kind of nice host. If I can't find a host I will have to make one (and that will NOT look very nice ;D)

Another option is to use some kind of batteries with higher voltage and the same size. Isn't there like 6 volt batteries that are pretty small?

Re: ** F/S** BR with driver in Aixiz Module $35

Whats the minimum input on the driver? You say 9v but that doesnt sound right. The diode only needs ~5v and that leaves a mysterious ~4v left. Does it really have that high of a dropout voltage?

Those spare glass lenses are good for your red lasers because it doesn't reflect as much red light so you get more power, but these lens are terrible for violets because they reflect violet light back into the diode which puts more stress on the diode, plus you don't get near as much violet out.

Re: ** F/S** BR with driver in Aixiz Module $35

so 2 20X modules for 35$ with driver if so save me one

Re: ** F/S** BR with driver in Aixiz Module $35

I'll take one if you have one, hopefully as high as can be pushed (SAFELY), or just anything over 100mW.
PM if you have any left, i can send you payment tomorrow (friday)

Re: ** F/S** BR with driver in Aixiz Module $35

Humansymphony for BR the input for it is 7V and red OpenCan is 5V. I list 9V because usually people would use a 9V battery with these instead of having the specail batt thats 3.7V each.
The diode needs 2V and driver 5V so it has to be atleast 7V.

If your going to be using a host, find out what battery it takes and add up the Voltage to see if its suffiecent for the BR module. If not you will need these for the AAA size, (10440 Ultra Fire Lith 3.7V) battery from DealExtreme. For the AA size im not too sure the number but its the same brand Ultra Fire and 3.7V lith battery.

Toked the 20x Open Can modules are the same $35 each not for both :)

Mohrenberg check your PM anyways  ;)

All details have been updated on the start of the page. I've got no more diodes left to build the BR modules, but have many other parts.
Im ordering the BR sleds so it should be soon. i've got 2 more Red Open Can diodes for building modules though.

Tommy
