Enchanted Beams Thread

Will, I agree, those photos from grainde are some of best around, I've always liked that thread.
My favorite photo in that sequence is the 520nm & 532nm comparison shot; that 520nm color is simply stunning in that shot!

Hopefully grainde doesn't mind us using his work. :D

Indeed Jeff :D

That comparison shot looks simply stunning. Especially since Grainde measured his PL520 at 510nm, makes it even more special.
And I'm sure Grainde wouldn't mind that we're posting his photos here so that others may appreciate his amazing art!

You're right will, grainde did find that the 520nm was indeed 510nm, I just had to read through the thread a little further to find it (post #61)! :)

So surreal looking! I remember seeing those pics for the first time and trying to figure them out. Some great lighting. I think I like the one with only the greens the best.
Makes me want to shoot outdoors, maybe the next foggy night.

Another former LPF member who took incredible outdoor laser pics was Gizmo. He also liked to get very saturated colors in his outdoor pics combing lasers and the Irish countryside.

I can probably do the "arctic beauty" just not the beams ... Down to -17C at the start of this week, warmed up some towards today. Snow is here, won't be leaving until ~May. The darkness is fast approaching.

Edit, 6000 posts! :D

Yikes...I could just NOT tolerate all the darkness...in one big bite !!! What does one do during that lovely period of majority darkness ?? Hmmmmm ??
Work on anything related to Lasers... I suppose!!! :D:D

And snow...till MAY....Screw that !! Good luck !! Keep those beam shots coming guys !!

Beam Out

You're right Bruce, Gizmo took some fantastic outdoor photos with, and without lasers! Those Irish countryside shots provided a nice contrast effect with the laserbeams cutting across them!
I sure do miss Gizmo, he made some great photo threads. I was lucky enough to buy a couple of his lasers that he put up for sale as he was leaving the laser hobby and doing his photography hobby full time.

Hey bow tie,
I was able to get his HL808nm 1W for twenty five dollars. I think his main interest now is macro photography

Hey RB,
After viewing your inspiring photo I looked for some I have taken in the past. Here are some old pics trying to use lasers (and longer exposure times) to try to get other parts of the picture to have very rich color saturation. The ones taken outdoors have nice colors. The ones taken in my house against a mirrored wall were using lasers and Philips Hue lighting. If anyone has time to search the forum (multimedia), look for some shots LPF member Grainde took a few years ago. They are out of this world surreal looking outdoor pics with color saturation very similar to RB's great photo.
I can see them now, back online.
Oh my, these are incredible !
Bruce I'm just gobsmacked, how beautiful are these, well done.

Great photos RB! Awesome that you were able to capture the stars as well without over-exposing the beam or red light. Simply stunning!
Yes indeed! I remember seeing his multimedia thread when it was first posted, beautiful photos. Here's the link to Grainde's thread if anyone's interested.

Fun in the garden...520 and white light!
Will thank you.
And thank you for the link, wow we have some very talented photographers here.
Anthony (Grainde) has some incredible photos in that thread as well.

Jeff I agree.
I was looking through his thread and am in awe.
I noticed he also does HDR and that now gives me a whole new avenue to pursue.
One of my favourite types of photography is HDR when it's done right.

I hope you don't mind ArcticDude, these shots don't have lasers in them but here's a couple of examples of my HDR photog.
Thanks for the links and ideas guys, I'll have to combine these HDR methods with my lasers and see what can be achieved.

Hey RB,
The Opera House shot is just perfect. As you know I like to do urban night photography in NYC. These two shots are so nice

I make it a habit now to visit your flickr pages regularly for my fix for NYC + your other wonderful imagery.
