eBay 5mW 473nm hmm.. $75?

It is what is says.
There are a couple of threads dealing with this unit, showing the inside, and how to mod it up a bit, I think up to 30mW or so.
A good price for ....up to 30mW of 473nm

Really? I didn't saw any threads, sorry..
Thanks for the answer dude. I think I may be getting one.. :eg:

edit: hmmm $50 shipping...

I got mine for $75 + 12 shipped. I ordered monday, will let you know back about it when i receive it. But hey, with like 5 minutes of work 20-30mW of 473 for under $100? hell yes i say. Hell yes.

Shipping is $50 because of where you live, its coming from U.S, and it will need a big box im sure

is it really big? :(
It seems very small on pics. Any signs of wear, damage etc?

I bought one from this seller and its enroute to me in toronto. shipping was $38US and totalt price was $115 CDN. I am looking forward to a laser that is a little more complex with opportunities to modify and experiment with it. if you can get anything more than 10mw out of it, its a good deal. i am curious about modifying it so that it still gets feedback from the photodiode but at a higher power. it really depends on what the feedback circuit is like and if i can reverse engineer it.

Hmmm.. so it is worth.. $125? Maybe I can transform it into a handheld? :)

edit: I saw on 532 w/ envy link.. that these are CNI heads.. true? :o

i've read multiple times that they are in fact cni heads yes.

And seriously, where else you gonna find 10-30mW of 473 for under 3 or $400 dollars?

Oh well it is a VERY SWEET deal IMO. The problem is that I don't like labbies. I don't have many outlets in my house hence not too much use for they..

ps: is it big/heavy?

I have no idea, i'm still waiting for mine, ordered it monday, hoping to get it by monday, tuesday the LATEST. I've never owned a labby and do not prefer it thats for certain, but like I said, it's a really awesome rare wavelength, and for the money you can't beat it, and get to experience true blue. This will help me make my decision if it's really worth $5-700 bucks for a handheld

Hmmm... I think I'll get it then. not today, but maybe this week. Thanks all people.. very appreciated.
If anyone that owns the unit knows if it is heavy or its dimensions, I'd like a comparison with anything (coke can, pen, 1 dollar etc)... Thanks!

Exactly. Even if you only get 5mw out of it, compare what 5mw 473nm is going to cost elsewhere (granted most of the low output 473's are pointers). but if this will do 20-30mw then its a steal. also the fact that the heads are high quality is an added bonus.

i have a sneaking feeling that these heads are capable of even more output. it might be worth determining the specs on the pump diode and if its running to spec, try and sub in a higher powered pump and see how it performs. its looks like a beefy design and the optics are TEC cooled.

Nice find. Dammit why does stuff like this always pop up when I decide it's "No more laser stuff for awhile!" time? I'm not a fan of the exposed PSU but for $89 shipped for 5-10mw (or more) of 473nm goodness I bet I could find some sort of enclosure for it.

Well, as I haven't bought that from CNI, I bet I could buy a enclosure with the remaining money, and get some projecting motors/mirrors etc and do a little lightshow :p
