Don't know how many of you been watching the nation news this week! But the side of Washington I live on is on fire! The Carlton Complex Fire in only 40% contained as of yesterday. I live only 70 miles from this fire. it is four fires that have combined into on large fire. I am living in a state of emergency county in Eastern Washington. 2000 fire fighters are on this fire as of yesterday and there are more coming from as far away as New York, and Alaska. The governor has activated 500 Nation Guard troops and has promised more. They may call in active duty troops to help fight this fire as well. we are under FEMA level two category for the amount of destruction that has happened! The town of Patros lost 80 homes yesterday and Wednesday. here are some links to pages with stories and pictures

Edit: the twenty two thousand acres estimate was as of yesterday at noon at noon today the fire was 172,000 acres and twenty miles closer to my town. its still 60 miles away. but it moved twenty miles in four hours and when from 40% contained back to 0 so we need some help quick

Don't play with your lasers in the forest! jk :)

If there is one good thing about where I live, it's that disasters don't seem to like it here. I couldn't imagine being that close to a raging inferno. Hopefully it's at least stopped soon, and it doesn't get any closer to you. Last thing you need now is worrying about a fire rolling down on top of you.
