Apparently felt as far away as Michigan and New York. They are saying it was around magnitude 5.0 and centered in Val des Bois, Quebec, only about 50km aways from here in Ottawa. Strong shaking lasted about 10 seconds here in south Ottawa were I live, some stuff fell of shelves but no serious damage here. Apparently there were some windows busted out and some chimneys cracked downtown and lots of the buildings down there have been evacuated. Anyone else feel this?

5.0 Val-des-Bois quake rattles Ottawa, eastern North America

Yeah I felt it in the shop it was quite strong...
I've felt small tremors here before... but this
was the biggest one yet...
I even went out of the building just in case...

Oh Come on... it was just a 5.0!! We have those for breakfast over here... (Ottawa attachment))

No, just kidding. We had a 5.3 last week, it was in the Ocotillo area (an area currently very active) but was felt here in San Diego. (Ocotillo)

I am attaching there Google Earth maps with the Ottawa's, Ocotillo's and California's current (red) and recent earthquakes (orange and yellow). Look on the lower right corner to see Ocotillo's activity too.

Hope no one got hurt, it is not fun when it is happening.

I felt it a lot.

No damage, but I had a close call. A "small" bike model my mom placed on a shelf, over a computer, almost fell on it.

Supposedly people felt a little something in my area (NW Ohio), people said it knocked a few things around the house over, etc. Personally, I was napping at the time, so I didn't notice :)
