There are quite a few rock solid laser component sellers on the forum. I have personally dealt with DTR, Jayrob, Moh , and Clif. I don't think any of them have ever let a customer down.

With DTR or Jayrob, I feel like you are definitely getting serviced by someone who is in this game for more than JUST making a little money, it is clearly a passion for them and it shows in their work ethic and their products.

You will be happy.

P.S. Moh will be missed! He was one of the good guys too!

Yes, this is the first (of many hopefully ) time I've dealt with DTR. I'm certain I have nothing to worry about except my own mishandling of the diode once it arrives. Moh will most certainly be missed indeed .

*EDIT*: the diode has come in! Batteries are charging because they arrived today. Now, we find out what this diode is made of. I'll be pushing 1.62A through it so we'll just see what happens. I don't have an LPM on me, but maybe after a week or two of having my fun I'll send it out to a nearby LPF member and have it checked. I'll be using an AR lens and some AW IMR 16340's to keep up with the driver's current draw. SO EXCITED!!!

**EDIT #2**: After some careful soldering and set-screwing, the laser is COMPLETE! Pumping 1.62A through it with an AR lens (not a G1 or G2) and the beam is beautiful. I don't care about the power sacrifice as much as I love the rounded dot. As my first 445nm laser, I'm simply blown away with the wavelength and the results of my hard work. Thanks DTR, a wonderful diode now has a new home. Cheers! :beer:

The only thing that sucks when dealing with DTR, Jayrob, etc. is that you won't be able to +rep them as much as you'd like because you have to spread your rep around to less deserving people.

Hey DTR, I wanted to ask if the S06J BDR diodes that you sell are the same ones that had the scandal about being 10x instead of 12x. Are the ones you sell the 12x ones or is it the company marked "12x".

I don't remember a scandal but these diodes have been found in 10x, 12X and now 14X drives. All of which is unimportant. The important part is in testing these have been found to be more durable than the only other real option in their class the Lite on diode out of the SF-BW512P sled.:beer:

It is all good. I did not take it that way.

If you look at that list which is pretty old but there are two S06J diodes on there one of which is giving 767mW @ 500mA making it the most efficient one on the chart.:beer:

Yeah, silly me, I saw that it was rated as (10x?) and was concerned is all. I think I'm going to have to prep my wallet for dropping some $45 on G1 or G2's.
