I'm with family for Canadian thanksgiving and they have a great hill 500 meters away for beaming in the back yard.

I would've included my yellows, but the beams didn't show up on them.

I did not have a tripod, so keeping the lasers still and the camera still was a challenge. The camera used was my friends D5000, the best camera I have ever used for capturing beams. I have used Cannon and Sony DSLR's before, but for some reason they don't capture the true beauty of the beams.

Laser used are 300mW 532nm and 100mW 473nm, both PGL style :)

532nm

473nm still warming up

Side by side. The beams look like they are focused, but that was just a trick of the camera.

View from the top of the hill.

BEAMS! :D

Spot on the side of the mountain. This was the best my friends could take because I was holding the laser so wobbly. Divergence is .6mrad on both the 532nm and 473nm! :yh:

Here's the full-res album

:thanks: for looking

Thanks :)

I hope I can do this with a mountain sometime, with the camera at the base. It would be amazing to see beams shining down from a mountain top :)

Probably, but I don't remember. My friend took most of those (except for the blurry one, that one was mine! :D) I usually just press all the buttons until the pictures start to look good.
