Doctor Who burning laser... Modification in the works...

I did mention the Master's Laser Screwdriver a few post back but hey...

You can get them cheaper than $40.

The company that makes the props for the series were selling limited edition sonics at the end of last year. They're sold out now but the company is called MFXWarehouse. Copied directly from the BBC, 'Hero', original. Really nice piece of kit. Bit too nice to try and fit a laser inside though. If I a photo of mine I'd post it.

Getting a bit off topic though I guess.

Good luck with your mod parabola949! Post pics when you're done!

Lol I did see that post, and I was referring to it when I said maybe I should, but I'm at work and didn't have time really to run back and re read to find out who said it.

As I work on this, starting with the actual laser and normal housing and whatnot, I will take pictures. I tend to post them in my (oh noes) facebook account, just because I don't like dealing with multiple sites and whatnot.
Lol i say that, yet I just googled my user name (parabola949) and good god I didn't realize how many accounts I have out there.... And I know that's not all of them at all...

Well, trying to consolidate, but I will post pics here..... no one on facebook is going to comment lol.

Well, they might comment but they may not understand! We do. We understand VERY well!

(I wish you hadn't posted anything about DRWHO! I've just spent the last few hours thinking what to buy next to add to my collection. I Hate You! ... And my bank manager hates you too! lol Really liking the new DW logo though.)

LMAO you did didnt ya, I read the first post and went ahead and make my posts. The 40$ is USD and is for the ones you can readily find here. They make sonics not lasers so useless link but ty for the nfo

My brother has one of those as well, without some modification it is next to useless for us, though - the widest battery you can easily change would be button cells, unless you make a new battery compartment further up the casing (the space in the handle section isn't useful - just wasted space and open areas for the other section to slide into/out of).

I have to say I agree with you Mr Bruce. I don't think any of these toys would make a good host. They WOULD be good novelty and sometimes that is what's required. Heck, if everyone felt the same then there wouldn't be a x12 BR Star Trek Phaser out there would there?!

I'd be pleased to see how it is tackled though. Innovation is a good thing! I may even take one apart myself to pass an afternoon.

Ya know, I think that'd be waaay cooler!

Oh, and I can confirm that the 11th Dr Toy Sonic has a green light! *Face/Plams self for latest purchase this afternoon* (I still hate you! Especially now I know the, "Future Sonic", is turning into a rare beastie and is only reasonably available in the states!)

Maybe so, but I'm referring to the actual sonic screwdriver on the TV- it's blue-green (almost aqua.... lol)

I wachted the first episode of the new season... it now looks 532 nm green to me :)

Come on guys! We don't normally have arguments over what colour light we think things are! It's not likely to be coherent whatever we say so it's all open to interpretation and I will admit it has a jade quality.

It's fiction after all and the props are likely to change anyway which will include the colour of any idividual light source and what it shines through.

I just wanna see the mod of the original sonic mentioned in this thread.

lol I was only joking, it doesn't really matter what color it actually is. Right now I'm waiting on some test results with the diode, besides the fact I have to wait 2 weeks for the driver circuit to come in. If all goes well, I'll see if I'm going to even be able to mount it in the sonic. We'll just have to wait and see.
