I have an 800W MacMah.. don't know too much about it but it works great. It will fill my ~50 cubic metre room with smoke so thick that you cannot see objects 1m away in about 25 minutes.
Smoke machines (unlike hazers) are quite cheap and I think any laser enthusiast and/or person who throws parties should own one. The effect just a little smoke has on beam visibility is amazing. I especially recommend using it with the kaleidoscopic 30mW greenie from DX - you can clearly see the beam from every single of the dots.

Hey guys - if anyone is in need of a really high output fogger, the 1200W foggamatic we use has come down considerably in price here:

NEW Meteor 1200w Fog Machine w/ FREE WIRELESS REMOTE - eBay (item 110343491795 end time Jul-26-09 04:30:58 PDT)

We bought both our Meteor units through Lumentech (so I'll definitely vouch for them) and their customer service is great, they stock parts too so if you need warranty work (or you bust something) repair is just a phone call or two away - just keep in mind that this 1200W unit will fill (and I mean FILL) a 6000-10000 sq ft venue very quickly when using a good-quality juice like I-fog or Froggy's Swamp Juice - definitely not a "consumer-level" unit!

(BTW when we bought our first 1201 it was just over $200 before shipping so this is a great deal!)

Yeah, they haven't had the 1201 or 1501's in stock for awhile but I always check their auctions now and then (Lumentech) just in case ... I sent an email RE their new hazer, too - it's only 300w draw so it's obviosly not a cheap-o "heater/hazer", at the price it's almost cheaper than rebuilding a 24/7 but it's all going to depend on if I can get a spec sheet and what it looks like...

I don't know how you guys in the U.S. can have things so cheap ..... here, the worse ones can cost 200 / 250 euro, and i mean like toys fog machines, not professional ones :p

Anyway, i made a DIY one some months ago, from scrap parts ..... it's called "frankenstain mark 1" model ..... it use a spring-pump and house from an old unitop meter (don't ask, i just found it broken and used the parts :D), and an old soldering iron heater (that is usually connected to a dimmer, i removed it at the moment), with a custom made "jet end", as in the pics.

I always wanted to build a motorized unit, but air pumps are or too weak (aquarium types), or too loud (aerosol machines types) ..... but lately, i mangled an old printer, and found a very strange pump in the cleaning head unit, and ofcourse this pump is made for work directly with liquids, so, maybe expect to see a "frankenstein mark 2" model, one of these days, LOL

That's easy. We have trade agreements with a country that allows child labor and sweat shops were women work 100+ hours a week for $30.

Long live WalMart!!!

I have a modified rave fog machine. Does about 2613.3 cubic feet of fog in a minute. Not to bad for 40$, but could be better :p

With swamp juice, its awesome.
