Dirty Green DOT

I have had similar problems, and I use microfible cloths. there are two different ypes, a rough finish one, and one thatas really smooth, its almost like rubber or something. its from a company called Micro glass. Heres a link to some on Ebay. Ebay Mcrofibre no alcahol or anything, just used the flat end of a toothpick, OR the end of a Qtip with the cotton removed. Best thing i have found.

Regardless of what solution or method you are using. Just remember never to clean it when the lens is hot. Also, always make sure the lens is completely dry, before you fire it up.
You don't want to bake on, what ever chemicals are in the solution. To the surface of the lens.

I just noticed all this crud around the DOT on my Opto 150mW. I just shot some canned air into the hole but it didn't clear this up. I ALWAYS keep the pointer in my camera bag in the pen sleeve when I'm not using it so is this some type of residue on the lens and can I get one of the engineers at my work ( I work in the TV business) to clean the lens or is there something going in behind the glass?

You have to buy:

- a Lensepen --> klick
- an Air Blower duster --> klick
- some good cotton swabs --> klick

You have to be really careful at cleaning the lense. Most time it is getting worther with cotton swabs or microfiber, but in your case I will recommend it to you, because the pollution is such big and you have these materials at home. But later on you have to buy the lensepen and the air blower to make the dot perfect again.

sandidgepatrick just bought it and knows what to do with it so thanks for everyones help.
