Lasers in the vid (in order):

Firedragon-V 650nm 80mw Pure Red Laser Pointer Pen

Firedragon-V 532nm 60mw Pure Green Laser Pointer Pen

Firedragon-V 532nm 80mw Pure Green Laser Pointer Pen

If this thread helped you with your decison, please use the affiliate links above. (!!they are currently NOT working!!)
From every buy, $1 goes as a donation to LPF. And you won´t pay a single cent more when using them! :wave:
I´m gonna give an update, screenshot of the value and the donation screenshot at the end of every month.

Notice: This is just a short demonstration, not the professional way to power test a laser.
The distance between the light source and the thermophile sensor is too short, the laser wasn´t hold stable, especially the last one..

IR amount is 7% with the "60mW" one and 12% with the "80mW" one. The only con is that the lasers are battery-hungry. Make sure to get a couple of quality cells for them.

Updated ;)

I´ve more of them coming in to test if they´re all that overspec. For $30 even 80mW (with low IR) in this host are great.

Edit: Just a side note, the safety key of the Firedragon lasers is also working for my CNI lasers :whistle:

@DJNY - Those are some awesome pens... Thank you for the review. +Rep.

Just one question, how are you measuring the IR content %?

He put an ir filter in front of it :
example:
measured 80mw
with ir filter 72mw
Ir: 80mw-72mw = 8mw
formula for percent :
P=W/G * 100
p=8mw/80mw = 0.1
0.1*100 = 10 %

Infinitus meant if he was measuring the IR content after the green is filtered out, or measuring the green after the IR is filtered out. 2 Different methods.

LOL! I guess I should have been more specific with the question. What i should have asked is, how is the IR filter being interposed into the beam.

Also another option would be to use non IR filtered goggles and see what passes through....

what cells can you use on these other then primaries? would a 10440 cell with a spacer work?

It does on most pointers but its always a gamble because it will be about 4.2V vs 3V.

Question is, is there any befit to using the 10440's. No point in using higher voltage batteries if the end result is just more heat:thinking:

@Lotus_Darkrose - You're right, that is what I meant.

Also a typical 10440 has less than half the capacity of a typical AAA (340mAh vs 1200mAh according to wikipedia)

I have both the 60mw 532 and the 400mw 808. While it's hard to say the power of the 808 without an LPM, I'm pretty sure the 532 is at least as powerful as a 75mw 532 I have.

They also shipped pretty fast considering where they are coming from. I ordered from DX several days before I ordered these, and I'm still waiting on the DX stuff to even make it to the US.

If you stick with their lasers that say "Certified Power" - well, I've consistently been impressed. I think they're literally LPMing each one before it goes out.
