giving away...

The open source... Perigrine.... something like that. I have an Ophir sender with an LPM that a member built for me...but CD with software did not work and he is unavailable at the moment.

Yeah... Saw that Perigrine Thread and the links
seem to lead to 404 ERROR...
Maybe he packed up and took it all with him...:undecided:

Peregrine is coming back but it will have to be updated to be used with the new edition of Java and Processing 3.

I'm going to try and work on it once I get the source files from Trevor/

:can:

Will Peregrine be able to use a USB? When?

In the meantime, I need something...I have not found anything available after researching online.

I just replied your PM,

Yeah you can use Vritonuzz, please refer to the software's user manual

*You've actually been sent a PM regarding Peregrine!

*Also there are quite a few realtime serial plotting applications out there. Some even look up via your Android phone to graph as well.

in the mean time try this to see if it will work off your serial port:

or this one Ardugraph

Thanks for all of this.
The data acquisition hardware is made by Dataq Instruments.
There software is very cumbersome and hard to configure.
When I removed the program and just installed the drivers, I was able to connect with Vitrinuzz but was unable to plot data...why...I don't know.
I don't have the expertise to understand the communication protocol used by the program.
I am going to try the others.
When is Peregrin going to come out again.

What device are you trying to Graph...

Jerry

Most likely the data acquisition software is not for streaming but for data translation into a graph. None of the devices listed on the Dataq use the Rs232 protocol.

What Dataq hardware are you using?

I beleive the unit was contructed : DI-145

As far as I know, the softare does do real time because there is a scope like trace.

BTW, thank you all for your kind attention and help.

Right, so that board uses a proprietary data protocol that WinDAQ, and the programs mentioned can decode. MATLAB also connects to it. That's good.

Have you tried installing the drivers? You might try running a student version of TI LABView to see if you can see your device?

Peregrine only parses RS232 data.
