i couldn't find any reviews on this one-so i have a few questions on it..

how bright would this laser compared to a green laser? the calculator only says it would be a 16 mw green laser in brightness? it seems a bit low..
does anyone know the particular or estimated divergence this laser may have?

Yea is not that bright. You can buy real 1W+ laser from our forum for cheap.
 
oh ok cool i only have 100 saved for the laser right now but maybe ill save up...and you said you think the reading is accurate? in terms of brightness?
 
1Watt of 445nm is Very bright, Green and Blue are completely different colors. is not that bad you think. You need Safety Googles for protection before buy any laser.

for 1 W of corse ill get goggles...if it can cut through thick plastic i think it may hurt my eye lol
 
500mW is plenty for your first high powered laser. It will be plenty bright :beer:
 
I suggest getting a lowered powered laser for your first, a 1W is quite a jump. Usually 50-150mW green is a great first laser.
 
Most definitely!^^^ my first HPL was a overspec rayfoss 100mW greenie and it was plenty bright enough.
 
Same! My 1st was a 150mW (133mW) Lazerer tiny pen. And in fact I found it easier to enjoy as I could point it indoors while my 1W's were hella uncomfortable for indoor use (and probably not healthy as well lol).
 
True 5mW 532nm is the ideal first laser. With it you can go nuts, and shine at everything indoors. You can learn to appreciate what is reflective and what isn't.

In the dark with a little dust or smoke you will also see a beam.

All of this absolutely safe, can be done for well under $100, and doesn't require goggles!

After that, after you learn what is reflective and what isn't... THEN get a more powerful laser. A ~100mW to 150mW green laser will be perfectly visible at night, will light a match, and pop a balloon.

Only after that move up to 1W+ class 4 monsters.

Personally I went through more of less this path... and I'm glad. You don't want to end up like this guy:

iwell that would not be my first laser my very first laser was a 5mw green...now i have a 100mw power rock and know all about the dangers of them....i know all about mirrors glass ect as you said with my 5mw and am very careful with the o like 100mw power rock green... it would be my first blue laser,, so i figured the cyper would be a cool one to have

The cyber is a decent model, it's fine so long as you're very diligent about duty cycle. For a bit more you can find better stuff here in the B/S/T section though.

You absolutely do need goggles with a 500mW+ laser. There are several links in my signature.
 
--edit--i just wanted a blue as i would be the only one around with that kind of laser...i hope to get it by the fourth of july so i can light fireworks for people lol....
 
oh yeah of corse on the goggles i mean 500mw is alot of power...it will definitely be a part of my buy...and as for the duty cycle im so paranoid about that i treat my 5mw like they hace a duty cycle...what would you say the divergence would be for the cyber blue? i know its not as good as green ones..
 
^ Yup those will cover 445nm, up to 99.8% of it according to its spec sheet. For up to 1W, I'm confident those will be fine, but some might disagree.
