I'd be surprised if I got any takers, but I thought I'd ask anyways. Here it goes:

I am taking a speech class this semester, and would like to use a burning 405nm laser for my upcoming demonstration speech. I was going to use my PHR-803T laser, but it died on me recently.

So my question is: is there anyone from the Cleveland, Ohio area who would be willing to let me borrow their laser? Something around 100 mw would do just fine. I would need it before Dec. 2, and I could return it anytime after Dec. 9. I will give you a few dollars for your generosity.:)

Please PM me, and we can work out the details. Thanks in advance.

Tim

100mW for a presentation!? :tsk:

I'll second that ":tsk:" and add :twak:

While 100mW of 405nm might not appear very bright, it already quite dangerous.

If you accidently flash someone in the eye with it, or they catch a reflection, it will do damage. 100mW is NOT presentation safe.

um guys i think he is showing the burning laser not using it to actually point out things... read it again

im not positive but thats what it sounds like to me :/

Nah... spanking someone in our PR crazy world can leave the wrong impression... there is nothing like a good smack to the back of the head to get a point across though:eg:

You accidentally set your supposed speech on fire in front of the class and then tell them "it just went up in flames so I can't finish it!"

Yea I rather enjoy :spank: myself, but you better have green eyes and red hair

If you're using it to burn things that is 1 thing but a 5mW Green will do the job for pointing things out.

maybe he is planning on blinding everyone in the room :wtf::crackup: just kidding ....

What exactly is the purpose of the laser in this presentation? Maybe a physics presentation?

Your "few dollars" could easily be used to buy your own laser that would be there by the 2nd of Dec. if you order soon..? Not sure you'll get any takers here, borrowing doesn't ever go very well with these expensive and rare devices...

lol I wanna see this guy's response when he gets back. You guys hold the record of the fastest threadjack in history :P I do agree with you though :)
